Reply from QV concerning new holograms!

Just thought I might pass along some insightful info concerning the newer holograms with the v-slits vs. the older ones which leave dots when pealed off. Appearantly the newer batches have the opposing v-slits, and DO NOT have to leave dots behind to be legit. Although I have seen a few of the newer v-slit holos that do leave dots behind, this does not mean it is fake. I also like how they gave me the spew about how it is that QV products are available in the USA. Check it out:

In response to your inquiries, we want to inform you that due to
availability matters with our supplier, we had to change the type of
hologram we were using then. The one we presently have is the one that has
two opposing "V" slits. It is important to mention that it does not leave
    dots when peeled off.
In relation to the sesame oil that is used to fill the bottles, it is
stabilized, so it cannot go rancid, which makes inexplicable the change of
smell. However, we will take the proper measurements to detect it.

The tests applied in live animals have not showed any secondary reactions,
so you can safely use it in your animals.

Unfortunately, we are living very hard times in which people without honesty
and decency are manufacturing a great quantity of fake products, such as
cd's, liquours, perfumes, clothes and now pharmaceutical products. We have
received pictures of our products roughly falsified. Since the hologram
cannot be repeated by anybody because it is a trademark, it looks much more
different than ours, but the box looks identical. We are now starting to
make the flip off caps marked with the QV logo and will soon our bottles
will also be marked with Qv.

On the other hand, there is something that greatly calls our attention:
How can it be that our products are in the U.S.A.? as our company do not
export them there, because it is not permited. We would like to warn you
    for the following reasons:

    1. our company does not export
    2. The products can be counterfeited
    3. The products could be illegally introduced to the U.S.A.
In addition to the above, these situations could represent a problem for
    you.

Our recommendation would be that you use the products manufactured in the
U.S.A from an American Laboratory, since our sales are only in Mexico
    through Veterinarians and Vet Pharmacies.

We hope you find the above useful.

    Sincerely,
    Quality Vet.

I wonder if they are laughing their asses off when they type that disclaimer part. Must have something to do with NAFTA or something. Their is probably a pharmaceutical limitation in the trade agreement that they have to dance around.

so the key lies in the hologram and the labels. The holograms should be very "holographic" and the labels should be rounded and not squared. Here are some key components in determining the authenticity of the QV hologram: Thanks goes to Bustanut at fitnessgeared.com
    http://www.fitnessgeared.com/forum/s...5&pagenumber=2

But look closely at the holograms on the first picture where the boxes are side by side. You will see that the real one (on left) has "seguridad" in a larger font than the fake. Also notice the "QV" on the hologram, specifically where the "V" is encircled by the "Q". Note how the fake "V" is much smaller where it goes through the "Q" (The left side of the V). On the real, note as well on the "QV", the tail on the bottom of the "Q" only reaches about to the second "vet" where it says vet.vet.vet. On the fake, the tail on the Q reaches all the way to the end of "vet" on vet.vet.vet! Just some pointers, since obviously the boxes are identical. So again, the key may lie in the hologram and the rounded corners of the label.

Thanks for the info ichabod! I'm gonna sleep better tonite.

One thing about a hologram that should maybe be mentioned is that it's really impossible to fake one -when I got my QV I figured it must be the real deal immediately since there's no mistaking the shimmering iridescence of a real hologram. You can see how flat and colorless the fake ones are on that fitnessgeared page, especially the pic from below.
