I was thinking of something else
The first one seems to just be an EFA and have never heard of the second so good luck trying to get it, and nevermind that, good luck using it, dosnt sound too nice (or effective)

Oh i've heard of arachidonic acid. As stated earlier by DanB, it's simply an EFA (which already exists within our muscle cells, specifically in the phospholipid bilayer). It plays a role in starting up the muscle growth signal process when the microtears in muscle fiber occurs from working out, and the arachidonic acid is released. The basic idea is that every time you train, your body's storage of arachidonic acid in the cells grow less and less (resulting from the release of it from exercise and subsequent use by the muscle in the healing and growing process), however the body's synthesis and storage of the EFA remains the same. Over time, levels drop and no longer is the same amount of arachidonic acid released from micro damage to muscle cells, and therefore this is believed to be one of the reasons our gains slow down. The idea is that if you were to supplement with arachidonic acid to keep your levels topped up all the time, more linear-like progress in muscle growth should be evident. Thus, more muscle mass gained.
It's shown to be a promising substance, however, there is much research to be done on it and there is definitely some conflicting evidence out there about it. I think a lot of it stems from administration routes. Taken orally, I think makes it useless (or at least far less effective). If it were to be injected, however.... may yield different results. Future studies will be the only things that will prove what the reality of this EFA is.Last edited by Atomini; 06-27-2012 at 04:50 PM.
