What is T3, T4, etc?
Probably a bit of a lamer question but what the heck is T3 and T4?
Do you also get T1 and T2? If so, what are they.
I have done a few searches but I cannot find answers to my questions.

T4 can also be another thyroid medication like T3. T2 is also an OTC supplement that ups your thyroid naturally.

So T4 can mean two totally separate things and T2 can mean two totally separate things?
That's confusing.

Sucks you have to see what context they use it in, I think they should refer to the T4 steriod as T400 (which is the name of it) and lets just forget about the T2 thyroid supplement.

T3 and T4, also known as thyroxin are calergenic hormones produced by the thyroid gland. Thyroxin stimulates body cells to increase their metabolic rate. The significance of the 3 in T3 and the 4 in T4 Has to due with the amount of bonded iodine molecules to a thyroglobulin molecule.

docs used to give T4 now many give T3 or a mix of t4/t3 - thyroid hormones
T1 - nobody knows what its good for as far as I know
T2 - Diiodothyronine - Research has shown T2 hormone to increase BMR
T3 - Triiodothyronine - Cytomel - liothyronine sodium - The good stuff
T4 - Thyroxine - SYNTHROID - levothyroxine sodium (+ iodine converts into T3)
