    Benzyl alcohol

I've heard many guys suggest that BA is responsible for the pain when injecting AAS.

I have also mentioned in another post that BA is actually used as a local anaesthetic.

So my point is . . . I doubt BA causes the pain but is actually added to AAS to lessen the pain and kill off any bacteria that might have got in there.

Perhaps the pain is associated with the oil and/or an allergic reaction to the oil or BA.

Maybe BA acts as a "local anasthetic" in skin or fatty tissue, and hurts like hell in muscle and "meat"?

    Just a thought

I said that, sort of. When I said it's there to kill of any bacteria - thats what a preservative does.

Here are some common sides of BA

The most common side effects are:
    • pain during injection
    • dysethesia (a burning, tingling sensation)
    • swelling of the arm or leg where the drug
    was injected
Less common side effects include skin sloughing
    (rubbing off), motor weakness, sensory
    loss, and wound infection.
If you notice any of these you should call your
    doctor.
Serious side effects are extremely rare. Symptoms
    would include:
    • tremors
    • convulsions
    • slow breathing, fatigue, and drowsiness
    • shortness of breath, chest pain
