    Low testosterone level help please!

    Hey all

I'm looking for some advice .. a brief history on myself .. I'm 33yrs old 6'6" &currently 290lbs. I was 330 but lost 40 so far. I recently went to my doctor to get my testosterone level checked because I felt like it might be Low . turns out I was correct. my level is only 143. I've been lifting regularly for the last 3 months and have noticed almost no improvements or gaines in strength. he prescribe me testosterone Cyprinnate 200mg every two weeks to inject myself with at home. he wants me to come back in 2 and a half months to check my levels again. My question is this: I've been thinking about starting a steroid cycle anyways regardless to getting it from my doctor and have done lots of reading and research. I'm not quite sure how to handle the situation of being re tested by my doctor in that I obviously want more than 200 milligrams every 2 weeks but I don't want my levels to be too high when I'm retested so that he lowers my dose. My doctor is very coo with me but I don't know about just asking him for more because I'm trying to build muscle. Would I be better off perhaps only taking a very small dose for 2 months to show just minimal increases, or maybe stockpile the testosterone till I have enough to do a full cycle? Anyone have any ideas or thoughts I would greatly appreciate it. Btw I am very large framed so the 290 is not really an awful lot of weight for me, Though at my current muscle mass I'd like to be down to 250 to 260. Thanks guys for any input!

    Welcome.

I find that protocol pretty odd. You may consider a second opinion. Better yet, I would spend some time in our HRT section and let the pro's there guide you.

I'm not sure what your BF % is, but even if it was at a reasonable level to start cycling, it's still too early for you considering you've only been lifting for a few months. It took me years simply to figure out what I was doing wrong at the gym. Give it more time before you hurt yourself. Learn to lift, learn to eat, learn to sleep. Then you can cycle safely.

    Best of luck to you.

Even at 200mg E2W you should be able to put on some extra muscle since your test levels were low to begin with. Like Austine said...work on your routine and MAINLY diet! Congratz on the 40lbs loss thus far! It would no doubt be a benifit if you posted your entire diet in our nutrition forum for pro eval.

Also as mentioned above...3 months is a drop in the bucket. If I take any major time off it takes me over a month just to get back in the groove! be patient!

Just thought I'd add that I do live and work on a farm so I feel I've always had a pretty decent daily physical workout. Also my diet consists of tuna egg whites almond milk spinach broccoli turkey chicken and whole wheat wraps. As far as daily intake I've been calorie shifting between 1500 &1900 a day

don't you feel constantly hungry on that diet? especially when you have a very active daily routine.

Honestly no, not really. Between drinking ALOT of water and the fillingness of the broccoli and spinach I really don't ever feel hungry. I'm also trying to eat 6xs a day which helps too.

Bigmike...think about it buddy. You obviously have been on a coloric defiecent diet to have lost 40lbs. Congratz again by the way. Muscle needs to be fed. It has to be fed to grow and then it needs to be fed to be sustained. Dropping the weight you have is not possible if you are trying to build alot of muscle and vise versa.

Worry about getting down to where you want to be...then bump your clean diet up in cals and start putting on the muscle. Don't stop lifting by any means as you want to maintain as much as possible through your cut!

Very solid advice and thank you, it does feel great to have lost that much weight thus far. But noone has really answered my initial question about my dr and future testosterone levels . I think I'm starting to get my own idea though. Thinking I should just take it as prescribed over the next two months and try to hit my remaining weight loss goal and then once I've done both that and been retested by doc go about acquiring additional gear from my outside source in addition to my prescription. Sound about right? Thanks again everyone for making me feel welcomed here and for the advice.

The answer you seek is within your reach...just look within your question

Yes! Concentrate on getting your TRT squared away with your doc FIRST. When he has you at the desired level and youi have shed the un wanted fat...then consider a cycle.

In the mean time..check out our nutrition forum for further assistance in hitting your goals and by all means, stick around and read and learn! best of luck!
