Fina homebrewers, I have a question.

What color should the gunk be at the bottom of the vial? I have read that it should be white, and I have also heard that it could be brownish-red. Mine was brownish red. What does your leftover gunk usually look like?

I think this all depends on whether you heated it up to speed up the disolving process... if I don't heat it mine is white - otherwise it's amber.

I did heat mine a little however even before I heated it the gunk never turned white. It was always brown. I am gonna let the gunk dry out and see if I can see any tren crystals in them.

Good idea. Keep us posted. By the way, my gunk was red-brown.

mine was a little rusty color with a little white at the very bottom of the vail(in order to see the white you must look under the vail)

I have read of multiple people filtering out the gunk afterwards...there's a LITTLE bit of tren in there regardless of color - but not enough to be worth the extra effort in my opinion.

I've made 2 batches recently and one I used heat and the other I didn't. The one with heat came out brownish-red and the one without came out an off white color. Your sounds good if you used heat.
