    How long does HCG keep?

How long does Hcg keep after mixed and stored in the fridge? I've heard a couple of weeks to six months! Does anybody know for sure?
    Thanks

forgive my stupidity in the matter, but I have 5000iu amps and was seriously considering the 500iu's each sat and sunday method that has some proponents. Is that even possible to undertake given this apparently rapid deterioration?

Whoa this is something I had never heard before. So HCG loses its potency after two weeks? How long is the total shelf life on it if anyone knows? Interesting...

re: HCG "After mixing, it should be kept refrigerated and used within a few weeks - though there are sterility issues which need to be considered after mixing."

I assume the "sterility issues" are due to the open amp after it's mixed -so there's no sterility problem if several slin pins are preloaded and stored in the fridge? (I've posted a thread asking about this also.)

Here's the word from Organon's own website about Pregnyl, 5000 i.u...

IMPORTANT: USE COMPLETELY AFTER RECONSTITUTION. RECONSTITUTED SOLUTION IS STABLE FOR 60 DAYS WHEN REFRIGERATED.

what about transferring the mixed solution to a sterile multi-use vial. Would that prevent any kind of contamination from bacteria and keep it sterile for the specified time period?

The stuff I get comes in two bottles: one with the HCG in it (looks like a big white pill) and another bottle with bacteriostatic water. The instructions say to use a hypo to suck up the water and move it to the bottle with the pill, and gently swirl to mix.
I wouldn't think that there would be any advantage to another transfer of the mixed solution to another vial . . . would be rather pointless, as both of the supplied bottles should already be quite sterile.
    So, no, I wouldn't bother . . .

Yeah, the whole idea as I understand it is that the mixed solution itself is unstable - but the dry powder isn't, which is why it's shipped that way. Once it's mixed it slowly deteriorates no matter how it's stored.
