This has been working great for me, and I can't see why it wouldn't work for others! Just as you put tension on the skin at the site before you inject...do it, instead, after you pull out the pin. Hold the skin taut :blush: for a minute or so, and rub in the goodies!
I mean...it makes sense right? The stuff can't dribble out if the puncture path isn't linear...seems logical to me.

Taut - ok, I see the past tense verbe of teach and I thought you were meaning tight with a cajun tongue.
But it should still remain "tight" since the verb "hold" is still in the present tense form. only use taut when you're saying "i held the skin..."
Dude...you must be the only English teacher on gear!!! :lol:

its called a z track injection. medical people use it for injections they don't want leaking out such as iron injections. i use them for all my injections. use your thumb pull skin tight to one side, give injection. release your thumb and pull out needle. the hole in the skin is not over the injection site not allowing it to leak out.

u release the skin BEFORE u pull the pin out? or after?
its really not that big of an issue before or after. i do it all at the same time. but i think the books say before.

There is also a technique called an air lock which involves injecting a small amount of air behind the bolus of medication. This technique also has the advantage of clearing the needle of all medication so there is less wastage. I didn’t post it because I didn't want any rookies trying to inject themselves with air. If anyone wants the description and diagram, let me know.

You can if you are a bit flexible, lie on the opposite side that you are injecting, reach around with the arm on the side you are lying on and pull the skin taught. Use the other hand to aspirate and inject. It is kind of tricky, but it can be done believe me.

Actually, The Dent Depot used the word taut correctly. Taut is an adjective meaning tightly drawn: not slack. The word taut is a better choice than tight to modify what he was describing.Quote:
