    Question Ventro gluteal injection

    Hey guys,

Wondering if anyone has experience with ventro injections?

I can't find any good instructions online on how to locate the site yourself. Most sources explain how to give someone else a ventrogluteal injection... which doesn't really help me

Any advice would be great thanks and I'm sure many others would benefit from this thread too 👍

Try laying on your side, and lift your leg. You should see a muscle contract in the area the video points out. Once you find it, its no problem, but I to had trouble locating using video similar to what kel posted.

You can also put your hand on the area and feel it contract. It should be very easy to see it contract unless you have a considerable amout of bodyfat. Im not lean and I can see it when flexed very easily.

im sorry if the explanation is not thourough enough, I tried to make it more thourough, but it became more difficult to understand. If you cant find it with thjs let me know and I will try to do better. If you know what anatomical position is along with the directional terms I can probably explain it a little better.

hey man thanks so much for writing this up... I followed your instructions.. what I found was a muscle that pops out its about 4cm in width and I'd say its more towards the front of my body than the back (if that makes sense). It feels like a tight muscle though... same for you? Do you think you could take a photo with you standing POV style lol - camera facing down to your right hip and having you point the needle where it should go? obviously leave the cap on! if not all good man, im not desparate just heard good things about the site.

More often than not, guys hit too low and too far forward when self injecting what they think is VG. The muscle more towards the front that you describe is likely the tensor fascia latea. Thats not it.

The video is about as clear as it gets. but realize its higher and more on the side. Pretty hard to go wrong there.

Here is a picture I found with a good illustration although I would say he has it a little high. I would aim more towards the bottom of the triangle Click image for larger version.

It's been described as the spot where the fold of the leg just starts below the hip, when in a seated position. I think it's easier to find when sitting. My first injection I was going for the ventro glut. I mistakenly thought it best to lie down, and I put 2 mL into my TFL. I recommend not doing that.

If you get a good feel for pinning glutes you can move the site towards the front of the body until you find the sweet spot on the side.
