    Cycle and calves?

    Hey

Just wondering if anyone actually experiences good calve growth on cycle and if so, is the growth up to par with other muscle groups?
Have really small calves at this point and was wondering if a test only cycle would actually make a difference in that area.
I ask this because of hearing that men have more androgen receptors in their upper body (traps shoulders back chest) than areas like calves, not sure if true please correct me...

    Thanks

I have small calves myself. I've done a lot of cycles and never had "WOW" type of calf growth. I'm convinced that genetics has a lot to do with calf growth on cycle.

Mine are getting growth , I need work on them so I'm making an effort. Giving them there own day on my off days , when I'm walking home steps sometimes I'll rep out multiple calf raises each step or at least calf raise with each step, when I'm walking at the park I'll do walking calf raises. Etcetc

Trying to add extra reps for my left so it catches up to my right calf

But my left is starting to get tht split in the back
And my right is getting a giant knot in the back part where it splits. (It growing is what I mean by a knot).
My soleus or whatever it's called I.e my side calf muscle has always been decent

So yeah I assume if u don't neglect them lie most people u will get growth especially on cycle. I never cycled and mines natural so I can't wait to get like KELKEL lol

The receptor problem I believe to be true. Thats where genes come in,as genes determine how many and how sensitive receptors are. I was cursed with a S**t chest, as have been out benched by all my friends that work out.lol.Them genes man.
For calves, on cycle, I would train them as often as possible. Every day perhaps like some do abs and other small groups.

Nope, my calves are sht. But my traps magically grow. Arms grows the most even without much dedicated arm days.

Train calves like any other muscle, heavy and high intensity, same number of times as any other muscle.

They will become stronger, muscular and defined. But if your genetics wrapped them in tight fascia you will struggle to gain size. Heavy stretching protocol can help a bit, but you will never put inches on them.

IMO whether you are on cycle or not, the theory is the same. My calves were always OK (in proportion) but did not attract attention. I changed to something similar to Marsoc and isolated calves and forearms in my afternoon training ( i train 2x/ day 4 days/wk). The isolation has made a big difference.
Another point, don't visualize your calf muscles growing, visualize moving your ankle forward. Just something that works for me.

If calves are a weak point, train the first and emphasize them. Many guys train calves at the end of their workout with the mindset of just getting them done. If they trained chest and arms that way they'd probably have poor development as well. Not saying it'll work for everyone but at least priortize them and see what happens.

Yup. This is my issue. My genetics scream endurance legs like my dad. Brother took after mom his are big and easy to work. For whatever reason my upper body gains just as easy or better than his. My chest is 50 inch his is 44. His calves and legs are much bigger though.

I use my cardio hour to specifically hit calves. Bike with clips and focus on motion of ankle and foot. A good gym has a bike set up with clips. Shoes run 50-100 bucks. I get zero response with heavy weights on the calf. Repetition makes them grow and vascularity increase (for me).

With that said once I got the calves to a certain size the weights had a much stronger impact. I assume cheating to other muscle groups was the reason early growth did not happen.

Your training should never change whether your on or off. Being on wont cause any growth if your not eating and training them correctly.
