No, its not too much. You can take it without problems.

The problem with vit d is that the blood tests are not accurate. You can supplement and still comeback low or average.

Still, unless you take very huge amount and your skin is on the sun for hours you wont have problems.

Do you know why the assay for vitamin D isn't accurate?

I take 5k IU Monday to Friday.

Haven't checked in a while, last time 25(oh)d3 levels scored at 68 ng/ml, should retest soon.

It's great for the autoimmune thyroiditis I have, being deficient is exceedingly common with this condition.

50k IU weekly is the very least you need if levels are indeed low. Ten weeks on this dose shouldn't land you above range.

Really what's the normal range for vitamin D specially since it's winter and there's lack of sun I doubt my multivitamin is covering what I need and what are the negative effects of having low vitamin D or not in range I should say

Is it possible you're having absorption issues? I take 1,000 IU's/day and mine came back at 50.7. I know a guy that consumes lots of dairy and supplements with D3 and his levels are always at 22-25

Not entirely sure what it's got to do with you possibly having absorption issues. So testing for D levels is worthless?

Have them write you a script and then just take it per their directions.

    I wondered this myself

What kind of balance do you strike between mag/D/K? It took me awhile to get a good ratio that suited me, but 600-700 mg of magnesium glycinate was what I found works best. I was getting palpitations, high BP, and awful anxiety with 5000 D3. Had to lower it all the way down to 1000 and up the mag in the process. I'm hoping I can devise a plan to get 2000 IU/day. I just don't want to fall back into that awful feeling the mega dose gave me. Luckily,1000 units keeps me at about 50 and I do tan a few times a month
