    Question too much protein

    all,
Quick question. I've been getting my blood work done regularly at the doc's. My Kidney level was a bit high. Doc told me I'm consuming to much Protein. Can this be true ? I know I dont even consume 2grams of protein per lb/body weight. Probably about 1.5 grams. I'm 5'10" 200lbs. How the heck am I supposed to grow without Protein.

    BTW:
    My current cycle is
    600 mg cyp/wk
    200 mg deca /wk
    40 mg anavar /dy

I thought the too much protein thing was a myth, doc said no.
Any thoughts would be appreciated, thanks

the doctor sees a complication with the kidneys and makes the most basic prognosis of 'too much protein' in the diet. did you tell him about your AS use? im sure he would switch his cause if he knew that...

i thought i heard somewhere that you would need like 5g/lbm to really do any damage...i may be wrong though.

keep eating your protein bro, i wouldn't stop since you are well under 2g/lbm.

Actually I get some of my AS from the doc, so he knows about my use. He deals with the test program. Thanks for the input.

Certain individuals can deal with a lot more 'excess' protein than others.

I have commented on protein intake before and made the point that the RDA for a body builder is around .8g per KG (yes that's per KG) of body weight. In fact it's the same RDA for an average adult.

I suggest the most you would need while on a cycle would be double that amount.

I would listen to your doctor - he may well be right.

BTW, make sure you drink plenty of water that will help flush the kidneys regularly.

The only people I know than are smarter that docs are vets. You should PM one of them and see what they say.

FedSki's right. Protein consumption and the impact it has on your health varies with the individual. A number of factors can contribute to abnormal kidney readings. Drink plenty of water and lighten up a little. One thing most people forget (and this is not to dismiss the consume a certain amount of protein rule for bber's) is that protein utilization especially with AAS increases dramatically with resistance training. The more protein you consume, the less efficient the body needs to be. Just because you consume a little less protein doesn't necessarily mean you will be impeding your gains.

Too much protien will create a high B.U.N.(nitrogen balance)which you need to grow. thats probably what the doc is talking about.

I like our vets and all but I doubt many are as qualified as a doctor to deal with health issues. If you need to, get a second opinion but don't discount a doctors opinion purely because of what you hear on an Internet msg board. Thats just common scene.

I agree with Ron although I do wonder if he is making this diagnosis based on your CK levels which are usually elevated in people that lift weights. Let us know what he says.

Thanks for the help everybody. I've cut my protein down slightly and increased my H2O consumption dramatically. I'm going for blood work again in a a few weeks, I'll let you guys know.
