    supplements

whats up guys? i just got in touch with my old personal trainer and he hooked me up with a new workout and nutrition plan. he also gave me some supplements. he gave me bcaa, l-arginine to help release insulin and hormones in your body, vanadyl sulfate for a better pump, and chromium picolinate to lean me out a bit more. anyone ever use any of these before? if so let me know what you thought of them. also in my nutrition plan he wants me to drink 2-3 myoplexes a day but since im lactose intolerant my body cant really handle them. any ideas on what to substitute them with?

Bro, this thread and your other thread are in the wrong places. This needs to be in the supplements forum.

Yeah but there is never anybody over in the supplement forums. I ve used all of them except for the sulfate. I love the glutamine-it cuts my recovery time down a bit and branch chain amino acids are also good, they help prevent your proteins from breaking down during your workouts. I taken chromium and didnt notice anything while I was on it. I think it is mostly for people with high blood pressure.

Wow! Chromium picolinate...there's a blast from the past. I haven't heard about that shit in years. Quite a few years ago I read an article on chromium picolinate that said it could do more harm that good. Increased chromium picolinate somehow damages a cell’s chromosomes and that can somehow instigate cancer on those cells.

l-arginine has been shown to do essentially nothing.

Same thing with l-glutamine... it gets destroyed in the stomach... doesnt go to muscle cells.

If the glutamine or arginine were used IV or something, or if you took a very large dose they might do something... but otherwise, don't waste your money.

i actually didnt know that. are there any supplements that actually do anything to help you besides protein and creatine of course.
