I think AR could really use a....
Hey peeps, not to be a wanker and bring up another board, but AR could really use a 'Secure Questions' forum like fitnessgeared. Works like this:
"Need a check? Need to ask a mod privately and securely? Post in this forum. Only you and the mod team will be able to read/reply to your post. NO ASKING FOR SOURCES WE JUST CHECK QUESTIONS YOU HAVE! Minimum 50 posts needed to take benefit.."
BENEFIT TO MODS:
Having this would save the mods a shitload of time responding to the same questions. How often do different mods answer the same question? Alot, I bet. And no more overflowing PM boxes!!
BENEFIT TO MEMBERS:
People get quicker responses to their questions on the average because the mods can all see each question, then any mod with an answer can post a response.
What do you think?? Mods, members...

I think that may very well be a great idea, IF in fact it does streamline the process for the mods. Personally, I don't think I have ever asked a "sensitive" question to a mod other than one I have "known" to some extent, so I'm not sure I would end up taking advantage of it (and I'm sure many members are the same)...additionally, I think the post count should be a bit higher than 50.
Overall, however, I think it is a fantastic idea worth a good look.

If AR decided to do this, they should make the post count very, very high to discourage just anyone from getting a source.

I'm not an MOD (maybe one day, hopefully) but it sounds like a good idea. Seems as though it would definitely save the MOD's a lot of time, as opposed to going through the numerous PM's they receive. I'd like to see what some of the MOD's and VET's have to say. I see JohnnyB is for it.

Unfortunately we cannot post sources openly on a 'secure board' because it is too much of a risk. PM's keep things secure and personall, if we start posting source checks and all that well end up with a trusted source list too (like Tridia(sp?) use to have) and thats when people start getting poped.

Only mods can read all threads in the forum. Members are only able to read threads that they start, their own threads. So if someone needs to ask a question this allows them to blanket their questions to all the moderators at once, rather than send several of them the same PM. Any mod can answer a question, then other mods can see the answer and add to it or modify it if necessary.

You missed the idea FI...I mod on fitnessgeared and I like the secure forum. It's just as secude as out mod forums. It is a seperate forum that members can ask about the legitacamy of sources or products. The only people that can see that post are the mods and the 1 person who posted it. I think it works very well, 1 post and all the mods get to read it and give their feedback...

Sorry bros i read the thread late at night and was under the impression that every member with 50 plus posts could read the threads, not just the creator and mods... in that case i too think its a really good idea!

I think this is a good idea. It is also a good way of developing the relationships (not that they are bad as they aren't) between some of the developing members and the Mods/Vets.
I think the limit should be around 150/200 posts. I've been a member of the Board for 2 years and I dont have 200 posts yet but I still think that is a good bench mark - 50 is far too little!
Great Idea!

wank·er ( P ) Pronunciation Key (wngkr)
n. Chiefly British Vulgar Slang
1) A person who masturbates.
2) A detestable person.
By definition #1 I would definitely agree with you...or maybe that would that be definition #2. Hell, I could fit either or both, depends when you ask....

this will have to wait a little longer. I am having trouble with a few things on the backend. It will have to wait until next week at least, but it will be added.
