It is an infection. It will go away in about a week or so usually. If you take some antibiotics, it will go down a lot quicker. that is why i usually keep some keflex around when inj ED.

i have been only hitting the butt but since every week it was getting more and more painful to stick in the needle i wanted to try somewhere new. First time i hit the leg, and probably the last.

I really hope you did not touch the needle with alcohol. I knew a friend who did that and he ended up with a NASTY infection(maybe similar to yours). Anyways, alcohol only smears around bacteria, iodide is what they prep with before going into surgery....

I find it helps to inject after taking a shower. I always make sure to soap up the area im planning on injecting pretty well. Once out of the shower i rarely use rubbing alcohol on the injection site.

Personally I just use some anti-bacterial soap. I don't like to use alcohol either.

HELL no! needles come sterile out of the package. Do NOT touch them with your hands/alcohol pad or whatever. There is your problem right there.

You can use alcohol, it kills bacteria. Iodine is a sterilizor, there is a big difference poking a dart for injection and using a scaple to open you up.
    Nothing wrong with rubbing alcohol.
