I learned early on never to ask anyone to be my partner. They never last unless they initiate the routine. Out of 4 years training 3 have been alone. I like listening to my music and just getting into a zone.

When I am able, with a partner..however with an uncertain schedule, odd work hours, frequent deployments, keeping it all inline with a partners schedule or desires is quite difficult. I usually end up with the mp3 player for motivation!

    workout partner

I finaly have a partner who doesnt have a girlfriend. It definately helps to have a partner at least for spotting heavy lifts.
My wife is a bodybuilder also but we lift at different times cause of kids.

i have a partner, but he always misses leg day, and lifts like a little girl. he'll be doing a rep and as soon as it gives him some strain he reracks the weight. then he wonders why he never grows. so if i had a choice id probably go by myself and just ask for a spot when i need one. its a plus to work at the gym so i know everyone there, makes it alot easier to ask for a spot.

    partners

i've had partners....and they usually all fade off after a while...i believe the longest partner i had was about a year....then he started lifting at a different gym..because his company that he worked for was paying for it....
i feel as long as i put my cd player on and jus work...i work alot harder...but if i had a spotter for those one or two extra reps..i could get a hell of alot bigger..faster..!
