new to EVERYTHING, help
my husband (24 years old, 196lbs, 5'10) used steroids a couple years before we met. i was never around him while he did them. he has gained so much weight (maybe 20 lbs. i fed him well) and has lost almost all his muscle since then. he still has pretty big arms and a very broad chest. he is really bothered by letting his body go and has lost much self-esteem. i hate seeing him so down on himself and it has been an issue in our relationship. but he is a family man now with a wife, two kids and a full time job. he doesn't have the time to get results naturally. he has been interested in getting a little help and we have talked about it now for at least a year. i won't allow him to do anything until i got some info about it. well, not that i won't "allow" him, but i want to be able to give my partner support in anything he chooses to do. i want to know what is the safest/effective cycle he should start. i also want to know side effects (what to do to maybe prevent or lessen the side effects), how long he will be affected by anything at all post cycle, about any mood swings (i heard people can get violent), about any sexual side effects, what i should expect from this all, how much money are we going to have to spend...ect... i know nothing about steroids really except for small talk at parties with his friends or from past boyfriends who had done them. please help me. what should the woman know about the steroids her man is about to use? thanks and sorry for typing so much.
my mail is firstname.lastname@example.org if someone wishes to provide info in private.

most of ur ?'s have been covered millions of times already (not trying to be mean, i swear) so do some research on: post cycle therapy which will allow him to keep most of the weight gained, and then anti estrogens, which help supress most side affects like gynocomestia (sp?). but as far as what he should take, that depends on his stats, previous cycle history and then the goals he would like to achieve. spend some time on the board and u will learn a ton. goodluck

i have been doing much reading throughout this board for the last hour. most of it is gibberish to me. many use abrivations for words that i don't know what they are talking about. he is going to join this board per my request. i guess i just want a little info that the woman should know. i have no idea what i am in for and want to help him with making right choices and such. i still worry about him...he's my baby lol.

well, where to start? 1st off no steroids will help him loose weight, that's where diet and cardio come in. They also are not "magic beans" that build muscle with no work. As I'm sure everyone will tell you his diet and training must be in check 1st. Train hard for at least a year (most will say 2-5yrs) then mabye consider a cycle. As for side effects there is something out there for most sides (i.e. viagra, nolva, clomid)but everyone reacts different, I am in my 5th week of a cycle now and the only sides i have is a little water retention.
use the search button ther is a ton of posts and different opinions on all your questions

2-5 years....that is a LONG time. we were thinking along the lines of maybe a year tops. he has already been woring out for three months and lost 10 pounds....hopefully it will keep up. he has a great diet that he has been following during this time as well. he is dead set on starting his cycle asap and i know he won't wait 5 years no matter what i say. i think i will just have to wait for him to join here and let you guys get a hold of him. like i said before, i know nothing about this and he seems to know a lot more than i do. i didn't even tell him that i joined to be able to ask. he will probably think i'm picking up buff men. haha i think i just want to know what "i'm" in for when he starts.

Well with 2 hours a day and all day Sunday sounds to me like he has enough time. It's all aboout dieting too. I would recommend a test cyp or test enan cycle 250-500mg a week for 10 wekks. Most importantly he needs to do some more research and have the anti-e's on hand also. Good luck and let us know what path he goes down.

thanks for you help everyone. my mail is email@example.com if anyone else wants to let me know of anything else. but i have to tend to my kids....it's bedtime. i will make sure jamie does join this and i believe he would more likely listen to all of you more than he would me with knowing nothing. thanks again.

finabolin is something that he SHOULD NOT take yet.if he doesnt know how to control his mood swings then fina(anything) is not right for him yet.he should stick to test(500mg/wk-750mg/wk) and maybe some d-bol(30mg/day) along with anti-e's(i like letrozole ).let me say this though.if he is one of those people who will only train with AAS and when the cycle is over just stop training then he is wasting time and money.JMO.

What I'm getting from what you're saying is that your hubby used to be a gym guy, with two cycles under his belt, but family life has caused him to lose some muscle and gain some fat, and that he wants to get back to where he was before.
if your husband worked out and did cycles before, and simply slacked off and gained some fat, it won't be terribly hard for him to lose his fat and rebuild his lost muscle naturally. Once you take the time to build muscle and then lose it, it will come back much easier than the first time you had to acheive it. Something called "muscle memory".
You can also do your part by feeding him healthy . Lean steaks, fish, minimal starches, etc. Do some research on diet! It is equally if not more important than getting your cycle right. The body can only build from what you give it.
There are also some pharmecuticals available for accelerated weight loss. Whether or not you want to go that route is up to you, but a "relatively" safe weight loss supplement is Ephedra/caffeine/aspirin taken as a combo before cardio activity.

i thought they banned ephedra
