dam that sucks, first off he will be charged with possesion of a illegal substance and if they are dicks maybe conspiracy to distribute. What state was your bro in cause laws are different in all of them on possession. If he is going to that college he could get kicked out. Most likely since it is his first offense the judge will just put him in a drug abuse program and give him a ****load of community service.

If it was only 1cc of each, he might not get charged with anything. Its such a small amount. But on the other hand, if they are assholes about it, then he will get possession and possible other charges such as distribute. My guess is he gets a fine and some probation.

I think that your right. First offense should be a slap on the wrist. Any other "novelties" found during the bust? That could have some affect..

was he arrested by city or university police?..if he got caught by university police or if they relay the info. he will most likely face minimum 1 year suspension...buddy of mine here almost got 1 year (got 1 semester instead) suspension just for getting pulled over on DWI suspicion by university cops...case ended up getting dismissed by hte city, but university decides WAY before city trial and have no benefit of the doubt...

wonder if they test it to see what it is. If not, he is off scotch free. Prolly unlikely but that is stupid to be in trouble for that much.

he'll get off. it's not enough to give 2 ****s about. they want the guy selling and his source not the little guy with 1 dose on him - that's nothing, not even worth the court costs. get a lawyer and it's over.

If he just walked into the bust, they did not have probable cause to search him. If he didn't consent to search, it could be dismissed. Just tell him to get a good lawyer

His best bet would be to deny what they are. He could say it's insulin and if they want to go through the expense to test it they will. But last I checked it was close to $600 to test to see if a compound was AAS. Do the cops and prosecuter really want to spend $1200 on so little an amount? I mean the fine is less then that for Christ sake. If he was smart he would shut up get a lawyer and let them work something out to the tune of no charges, or just community service.
But if he has already fallen on his sword then that is a whole new stack of problems for him.

No offense, but you clearly do not know the law very well. By him simply being in the house/dorm that the dealer was in is enough probable cause to search ANYONE on the premise.

He will get charged with possession. It's a misdemeanor so with a clean record he will get a diversion if they offer that in your state and they will test the liquid. It does not cost police to test chemicals. They get sent to a state lab who test all drugs even if it's obvious what it is because it's required by prosecutors for prosecution. He needs to make sure he makes it clear he was using not selling. As far as school, some have policy such as misdemeanor = 1semester and felony = 1 year or expelled. Most schools will work with you and give you a chance with the right attitude. Sorry to hear this happened, but with diversion you are basically on probation for 1yr then if no trouble record is clear. It's all about his attitude at this point and with certain drugs/certain officers amount doesn't matter. If it's in a large city he will be better off because city ordinance usually allows for lesser penalties. Hope for the best.

I hope he and his buddy and everyone there kept their mouths shut (as everyone always should around cops) because this is an example of, like the post I quoted, they may not want to, have the resources to, or have enough product to.. test it to find out what it is. If someone opened their trap they probably have a witness stating it's steroids . If everyone kept their mouths shut "I don't want to answer any questions without a lawyer officer" then they have a syringe with needle attached and some sort of substance in it, something that looks like an oil. If he talks and says "yeah but it's just my first time.... I'm an A student... please don't arrest me...bla, bla...." he's telling the cops it's a controlled substance, more or less.

    Don't incriminate yourselves fellas!

    Silence is golden.

Let your lawyer (AKA your mouthpiece) talk FOR you.

Personal freedoms at colleges in this country are expanding every day, huh?

What if I'm the father of a frat boy and am visiting him at his house. 20 frat bro's present, and me. Cops come for some reason and find a joint on one of the kids. Does this mean that everyone in the house, even the dude's sleeping, studying on the 3rd floor, and me and my son who are having a private discussion in his room are all subject to be searched? And if we refuse the cops are within their rights to use force to search me and my son and the others who clearly are not connected to whatever the kid with the joint in his pocket is doing, let alone there is no reasonable articulable suspicion to describe why the cops have reasonable suspicion that I might have drugs on me or knew the kid had drugs on him? Ditto for the kids studying, etc... Not trying to put you personally on the defensive, just playing devils advocate. I don't know what the laws are on college campuses nowadays. When I was at SMU back in the day of backdoor deals for all the football players with cash and cars, etc, etc... the laws were starting to suck then. I dread to think what they are now.
