They are going to remove a small piece of my collar bone and insert a piece of plastic in my ac joint.

2 seasons college football, 7 years in the military w/ lotsa weightlifting, pushups, climbing, jumping out of planes and choppers, etc. Basicly, a bunch of wear-n-tear.

Good luck brother, I'm currently on my 3rd week post R shoulder surgery. Tore the Labrahm off the bone and a slight rotator cuff tear.l A couple of screws some wire and a few stitches. Doc says stay in the sling with arm immobilized for 6 weeks then you can start rehab. 3 more to go till rehab. And when I went in for the f/u he showed pics if the damage and the surgery repair.... I have no idea how that sh#t is gonna hold when I lift again but the Doc said DO EXACTLY AS I SAY and you will lift again. Of course he finished it with "I can't guarantee it will hold with your lifestyle, but its the best fix out there."

My advice to you is if your on a PCA - Patient Controlled Analgesic for morphine and can put up with the pain when you regain consciousness, to limit how much you use the PCA as you will feel a whole lot better in the long run and usually get released from the hospital more quickly.

I have had 4 operations and before I had the first a mate told me what I have told you. I gave this advice to a friend who had an operation 1 day after me. He ignored my advice. One day he was fine, full of morphine bouncing around his bed. The next 2-3 days we looked like an old man, grey and a wreck.

    I had forewarned him.

    Forewarned is forearmed!

    Good luck
