pin is def the right size, but im not positive about the rubbing alcohol thing, i dont see a problem, but i guess see what some other guys say
i always use 91% alocohol as that 70% seems to be worthless, i think the cotton is fine, i use freakin kleenex for gods sake. 23 is fine, but you wouldnt need anything over 1 inch. I am usin 25g right now and i tell you what, you can't even tell its giong in cause its so easy
You could. But why ? Cotton balls are fibrous and could become seperated. Alcohol pads are so cheap and conveinient. Just my 2 cents...

I have a spray top that fits on a bottle of rubbing alcohol (they sell 'em at Target and WalMart and Sally Beauty Supply). . . I'll spray a stream or two or three on the vial's top, which acts to push off any unfriendly bugs that may have taken up residence. Then I'll squirt some on a cotton ball, use that to prepare the skin that's gonna get the needle.
I doubt that it makes much difference if you use 99% IPA or 70% IPA (the 70% is common rubbing alcohol), as you're not going for 100% sterilization here. Even if you did everything 100% sterile, as soon as any bacteria in the air landed on the just-cleaned surfaces, it would no longer be sterile.
So, getting it mostly clean ("sanitized") is good enough . . . just use a sterile needle, and you'll be just fine.
