i don't understand why some labs like labcorp, use a range from about 250-800ug/dl for total testosterone, but others use a wider range like up to 1000 or even 1200. why is this?

It depends on the machines used (sensitivity and brand/model) as well as the standards they use. Each test will be run against a standard sample, which isn't universal
so let's say that someone got a total test. of 600 from labcorp (range from about 250-800 or so). this 600 isn't the same for a range that goes up to 1200? would this 600 come out higher from a lab that uses a range up to 1200?Quote:

So, yes, your total test results may be higher at Quest vs Labcorp, but their normal ranges will "normalize" the results.
Some tests will show little or no variation from lab to lab.
