Can anyone discuss the differences in limitations [overtraining] in terms of on cycle vs off-cycle??
I generally do 3 - 6 more sets per bodypart while "on"...is this a bad idea or acceptable?

I've read that recovery is much faster when on, but I'm not sure that makes it ok to put a greater load on your muscles

Recovery is much greater. This is one of most important benefits that steroids do for you. However you can still over train. How much more you can add depends on what you are currently doing. The way I look at it is. You know how some days (off-cycle) you go in and just feel great and can lift a house, but then the next you are tired. Well on cycle I have those good days every day.

by the way I meant to say about 12 -16 sets is all I would reccomend for large muscle groups.

That's a good way of looking at it. I'm used to being burnt out and tired, but after a "normal" workout while on cycle, I just want more

instead of giving a muscle group 7 days of rest i give them 6 and hit them one day sooner.
