Hey everyone. These are my results after 12 weeks of proper diet and training. There was NO CYCLE involved in this, even though I considered steroids and did all the research before I learned that I'm nowhere near ready for them, even now.

5'10" -- Never lifted a weight in my life before jumping right into a solid routine.

problem with being ecto, is that I dont think I will ever go back to my old eating habbits again, because I will deflate as if I took steroids.

3,000 calories a day gets a little tiresome at times :frown:

dang bro, good job. most people that have never lifted before will see steroid like gains when they jump into a solid program like you did. Not taking anything away from you as you did an awsome job! what are you looking to do now?

Most excellent! You are at the age where you have hormone levels that 30 year olds have to take steroids to achieve. Not only that but consider the first 6 months of weight training for anyone generally delivers "better then steroids" results. You may find after the first 6 months the rate of gain slows down a bit but that is typical for the human body. Stick with it, keep lifting and from here on you might only gain 15 lbs a year, but hey, its still in the right direction!!

Dont cut down... stay at 175 and just keep lifting heavier and heavier weights. You might temporarily be overweight but the muscle gain will be faster and furious with the abundance of calaries and extra body fat. Most body builders us the excessive calaries and body fat to accellerate muscle gains.

You may also find 3000 calaries a day supported rapid weight gain on you so far, but generally 3000 calaries a day will probably put a "cap" on your weight gain capacity, like it might not allow you to go past 170 lbs and in order to gain past that, you have to increase up to 3500 calaries a day. Guys over 200 lbs have to eat 4000 calaries a day in order to maintain their weight at that level or else they loose weight at 3000 calaries a day.

Looking young is a good thing your old enough to do pretty much anything you want so I'd rather look in my 20's when i'm in my 30's so there's advantages bro.

Looks great, but are you sure that's a 33 pound gain in twelve weeks?

Don't worry about getting a little "pudgey", you'll always be able to diet down with a metabolism like yours. You'll gain muscle with the fat, and it's a lot easier to loose ten pounds of fat than it is to gain ten pounds of muscle.

Keep it up. You're gonna go far with your good attitude and dedication.

Thanks for all the positive replies.

The program I followed was developed strictly for ectomorphs, by an ectomorph named Anthony Ellis.

It had me training each muscle group no more than once a week and it would cycle the workouts to prevent plateus. I also had to leave the gym immediately to eat if my workout went over 70 minutes.

Monday- Chest/Shoulders/Triceps

Variation of bench press
Variation of overhead shoulder press
Bar dips

Wednesday- Legs

Squats
Variation of deadlifts

Friday- Back/Biceps/Lats

Pull ups (grip would vary)
Variation of curls
Bent over rows(bar or dumbbells, depending on which week of the program im at)

Week 7 and 8 of the program, I would do 10x10 with a light weight (to avoid hitting a plateu)

Thats about it. Diet would be split 40%_carbs/30%_protein/30%_unsaturated fats. My caloric intake would be 20x my bodyweight. Absolutely no more than 3 hours in between meals and a post workout shake of 100g of Dextrose/Maltodextrin. Protein with every meal as well.

It took me 2 months to mentally prepare for what I was about to undertake, and I feel that if I didnt take the time to prepare for this, I would have never gone through with it 100%

You made some awesome improvements.

I'm impressed.

What impresses me more is the fact that you set a goal, got a routine, and followed it tru...

Good to see you on the board...Welcome to AR

I think the pudginess is relative man... i mean you've gone from really slim to muscular in only 12 weeks. Mentally you probably haven't adjusted to seeing yourself in this light.

I'd shoot for the 175 and try to hold it for as long as possible...maybe even trying to bump slowly upwards like Ntpadude suggested

Great going man.

I'd like to thank you for being one of the most intelligent and motivated young men I have ever seen on this board. You should serve as an inspiration to all that think about juicing too soon. Hard work and proper nutrition will help you acheive your goals. Man, I wish I was an ectomorph. Keep up the good work. Mark

With the progress you made, and the way you went about it, I just don't think you will need to cut if you add another 14 pounds. 161 to 175.
I do like the idea of staying at 175. It will give yourself a chance to stablize at a new body weight.

Force your genetic make up to change... Frank zane is a pure ectomorph... Look at how good he looks at 205 pounds max weight...

My max bench went from 135 to 215 in 4 months.

Now for the bad part: I am constantly suffering from joint and ligament pains in my upper body. I don't know what to ****ing do with myself anymore. I do NOT want to take a break from lifting under any circumstances.

Awesome job man! I go with an opinion I saw up top and say keep going after you hit 175. Dont forget the more body mass you build, the more you must consume to keep the growth going. You obviously have the discipline and have aquired a good base of knowledge. You should be proud. Apply that discipline to your eating also. It gets old - I'm sooo tired of eating every 2 hours, but you must to grow. Fantastic results.
