hi guys.

ive had an inflammation in my right shoulder for about 10 months now. sometimes my tricep area would hurt sometimes scapula. 2 days ago i got a cortisone shot and since yesterday my scapula has been hurting like hell i mean it really really hurts, my sis and dad gave me a massage, even my boss at work gave me one lol still hurts like hell. today even my tricep hurts a lil bit.

The question is, what can i do about this? is it the inflammation spreading or is it just coz i try not to use the front of my shoulder coz of the inflammation and instead i overuse the scapula??

thnx for any help!

did you injure your scapula? scapula injuries can be rough, I knew someone who had that, and got nerve pain down her arm (may be what you're experiencing in the tricep).

what does the doc say about it?

no it wasnt the scapula i injured, it was the long bicep tendon i have an inflammation there. but sometimes the scapula hurts sometimes triceps or even forearms. but these past days since my cortisone shot my scapula been hurting real bad, i mean if i touch it it hurts just like if i had a bruise or something.

imho, and from experience, sounds like nerve damage...did you ever get checked for that? dam, can't think of the name of the test that checks your nerves, but I had it done once

I'd go to a specialist, see what he says. thing that sux is if it is nerve damage, they really can't do anything for it...so hope it's not that.

good luck, bro

oh, but if it's just inflammation, it'll be fine w/ rest

actually im alot better than when i posted, i dont have any pain, maybe soometime it hurts when i lift something heavy but i try to avoid it.
all i did was these excersizes(sp?) docsust posted
and ice it a couple of times a day for 20-30 min. take some time off of the gym and avoid movements that hurt, and warm up ur shoulder a couple of times a day to get the blood floating, put ur arms in the air pointing forwards and write the entire alphabet with ur entire arm in the air, do this a couple of times aday also.
good luck bro

oh and let me add, do the excersizes 5-7 times / week

the exercise are more for the rotator cuff muscles, the supra and infraspinatus are right above the scapula so i can see how it can help.if it worked for you , that is great, i would knock it down to 2-3 times a wk, every other day, 5 -7 is alot of volume
