pain above kneecap

i have been experiencing some pain above my left kneecap for about 6 weeks now. i have layed off of any leg exercises for the past 2 weeks, but it doesn't seem to getting any better just yet. it doesn't hurt when i am lifting or playing sports. it is however sensitive to the touch and when i do a deep squat. i'm worried that i may have some injury to a tendon.

could be the cartalidge behind ur knee IMO ...i had same problem they just cut 3 little holes and removed the torn cartalidge... knees never been the same tho ... def get it checked out or itl become a serios pain no matter what it is... i have to wear a knee brace squating :frown:
