I am suffering from a sprained forearm and knee injury (sigh). Seems like its takin forever to heal....

I heard that "accupunture" improves circulation and therefore...increases bloodflow which in turns speeds recovery.

Anyone ever try this form of therapy?

Thnks!

Yes, i'm studying this in grad school right now. It works off of your meridian pathways in your body.

Sounds interesting...can you give us some "successful" techniques or perhaps some book that might help?

1. Biomedical accupuncture for pain management: An integrative approach
Ma, Yun-tao, Ma, Mila and cho, Zang Hee.
Elsevier/chruchill Livingstone, 2005.

2. This is a great site: http://acupuncture.com/education/theory/acuintro.htm just reduce this down if it is too long to paste and work.

Accupuncture sometimes uses wierd words like chakra and chi........don't let them wierd you out.........this is an old chinese medicine so you'll have that, but if you look deeper than some of the crazy words it starts to make sense.

In my experience everybody responds different to this therapy, it is definitely legitamite. I've seen many people who it helps tremendously, and others that don't benefit quite as much. I guess it all depends on the dr. who does it on you and how your own body responds. But i would say it is worth a shot if the dr knows there stuff.
