Hey I walked into a nutrition store yesterday looking for a good multi and the guy asked me if I dont mind taking more than one pill a day and I said no... so he recommended me taking a mutlivitamin that you are suppposed to take 3 capsules daily. I feel as though it might be a little to much. Can anyone recommend a high quality multi vitamin for me to take as a 21 yr old?? THANKS

Assuming you have a solid diet 1 dose of any multivitamin per day is sufficient.

i have to disagree. a regular multi with only 100% of the rda of most vitamins and minerals is insufficient for bb's. we burn up far more nutrients than the average person from our workouts, and therefore require far more to keep ourselves healthy.

additionally, we don't get much vitamins from our foods anymore as many fruits and veggies nutrients are depleted due to pesticides and poor soil from rushed crops for profit. organic is better, but still not sufficient for our nutritional requirements.

if you want something basic, you can find a decent multi at your local "vitamin world" or "gnc". i'm not a big fan of gnc personally as they're way overpriced, but they both have a comprehensive multi with a good balance of vitamins and minerals in them. i personally use "ultra vita man" from vitamin world. gnc has a vitamin that's comparable as well though.

if you go with vitamin world, sign up to get their free card for discounts at the beginning of the month. with the card, when they run their special you can get the vitamins at a buy one get one price for real cheap.

nutrition is a very tricky thing and can vary from individual to individual due to different situations and circumstances. when i was trying to get into the military for a certain position that entailed generally triathalon training (tons of endurance) they said a balanced diet would be enough, but one multivitamin is the most you would need.

then for exercise science school, our nutrition professor said the same thing... a balanced diet and one vitamin a day at most if you are very active.

after reading around on this website you see a lot of different points of view... some of them are more precautionary and some slightly more agressive. if you are going into a cycle though, i'd side with the guys on this site and go big or go home. an extra vitamin or two won't kill you, but i think it could really help you. it will cost you more in vitamins each month, but this is ultimately just another sacrifice you must make to get from where you are to where you need to be.

My multivitamin is time released. I take 'em twice a day. AM and PM. IMO, 3x daily is too much unless your multivitamin is shit dosed. If that's the case, you might need a better multi.
