Trainer says I need to lose 7-10 lbs to see my abs...what do you think? Try not to be too harsh, still a work in progress. Lost 25 lbs so far. When I stand up, I can beleive 7 lbs, cause I can feel my abs. But when i sit down, I think like 15lbs. Gimme you thoughts. Thanks.

I'll be honest man..its much more than you think. You'd think its a lot less but the leaner you get..the more it seems to take. I won't give a number cuz I won't be too harsh..but its alright I was there once

actually 10lbs of pure fat would be ALOT!
but considering he will drop his glycogen reserves and water w/ it .. his over all weight loss will be closer to 20-25

Abs are a bitch bro... no flame but 10lbs won't even put a dent in your mid-section... It's not like you choose where the fat comes off....

7-10lbs of fat loss is about correct, but your total weight loss is going to be around 20lbs including water, etc. You won't see abs if you just lose 10lbs of bodyweight...

I agree with everyone else, more like 25lbs. You made it this far, stick to it. Also check out the diet forum for some good advice if you haven't already.

like mentioned..at least another 20 lbs to see abs

also, you're gonna have alot of loose skin covering your lower abs... it may take 1-2 yrs to tighten up if you can keep the weight off...sorry to ruin the party..I have the same problem....even at 7% BF (1.5 yrs ago), my lower abs were behind flabby flaps of skin....recently though, its become MUCH better...just be patient

but congrats on your progress thus far! Keep it up....Rome wasn't built in a day

well, the problem is that when you lose weight, you lose it from all over your body, not just in the problem areas. ive found that in order to get a fat six pack, you need to have a very very low bf%

assuming I cut the weight i needed to by september, is there anything I can do to tighten up my skin?

abstrack
07-06-2006, 10:59 PM
naw bud. The skin is like rubber. It takes time to shrink back, and some times if it is too stretched out, it will not go back to "normal". You might still have loose skin or stretch marks.

Judging from your pics, you should be fine. It is just going to take some time and dedication on your part.
