It's been a while since I posted leg picts so I thought I would post some. The pictures were taken cold and I noticed in the picts I didn't flex. I took them quickly because I took them on the gym floor. I don't know if you remember but I tore my adductor end of 2004 so it was awhile before I could train legs heavy again. My goal right now is to add more size on my inner thigh & hamstrings and more size on the tear drops.
As of today I'm with ProEdge. The same guy who trains Victor Martinez. He's putting together a new diet for me and said he has a whole plan to take me to the next level. He gave me a long lecture to. Basically said anything I tell you to do you do it. No questions. :lol:

Thank you. I have veins in my quads and calves but they don't show up with my cell phone camera. On Saturday I'll ask Victor to take picts in all of the mandatory poses.

I do quads by themselves and hamstrings and calves on a seperate day.
4 sets stiff leg deadlifts
4 sets standing leg curls
4 sets seated leg curls
4 sets ***** crunches (adductor machine)

I don't measure anything on purpose. If I measure I get obsessive and start doing it a few times a day. So a year ago I threw out all of my tape measures. They're at least 28 inches. My long term goal is to have them 30" on stage.

Those are some thick wheels C!! I agree with bringing up the teardrops and hams, that will add more balance and thickness to your quads. Your outer sweep looks great! How did you tear your adductor??

I think it started to go while doing lunges. I was at the bottom of the lunge and my right leg buckled out and snapped back in. It hurt but wasn't that painful. 2 weeks later I was warming up squats. I wasn't going heavy yet and it tore at the bottom of the squat. It sounded like pulling velcro apart. It was so loud everyone around heard it.

I've known Victor Martinez for like 10 years. I was competing gymnastics back then and he used to tell me I should quit gymnastics and get big. That I had the body for it.

What are the benefits of that exactly? Get lactic acid out of muscles, quicker recovery or something else?

He said it helps tear the muscle fascia so you grow faster. I'm told it's extremely painful. I'm not looking forward to it. I'm going to do it because he said so and he knows his shit.

I remember Jay cutler swears by deep tissue massages. I don't know too much about it, but he looked like he was in pain in the pic i saw of him getting it done.

very painful. sometimes sore the next day. during my playing days i'd get one every few weeks. dont really know if it did me any good but the trainers used to say that loose muscles=better blood flow. better blood flow=removal of toxins and more oxygen in the area which helps speed up injury recovery. personally i would have rather skated with the injury than the soreness of the massage but whatever.

Thanks man. When he looked at me he said I can continue to bulk. He'll have me start to cut 9-10 weeks out.
We trained Saturday and the workout was like nothing I've ever done before. Besides lifting he had me stretching and posing throughout the workout. He had me do some of the poses while holding weight.
You know how pros get in and out poses and it looks really smooth? He showed me the proper way to get in and out of them and said we will work posing ever session until it becomes second nature. He's got me really excited!

The 3 will work out as 1 heavy quad day, 1 heavy hamstring day and 1 light quad day. There is enough rest in between.

I trained back with Victor yesterday. When we started the first thing he asked was do you have straps? I told him I don't use them. He said you're going to need them. He wasn't lying! My forearms gave out 3/4 of the way through the workout. He put deadlifts at the end which killed!!! I never get stiff the same day or the next. Usually it's 2 days later. I went home in pain and I was stiff by the time I went to bed.
Back workout
Hammer strength seated row close grip super set with close grip pull ups
4 sets, 12 reps
Wide grip pull downs to chest super set with pull downs behind the head with light weight
4 sets, 12 reps in front. 5 reps behind
Dumbbell rows
4 sets, 10 reps
Rear delts
4 sets, 10 reps
Cable row to middle back
3 sets, 10 reps
Close grip pull downs
3 sets, 10 reps
Saw horse pull overs
3 sets, 10 reps
Posing
Incline lat spread with weight
4 sets, 6 reps
Deadlifts
3 sets pyramiding up to max weight. 3 sets pyramiding down.

Thank you for the compliment. I go to the gym for one hour. Leg day a little over an hour. I like to get in, hit the weights heavy and get the hell out. I go 4-5 days a week. More during contest prep.
I have an extremely fast metabolism so I don't do any cardio off season. (Yes, everyone hates me because of it.) :wg: I only do cardio for contest prep.

I trained legs with Victor today. The workout took 1 hour and 45 minutes. Lot of stretching through out the workout and posing afterwards.
Victor asked me how often I train calves. I told him to be honest probably twice a month. He gave me a look and said they look great for twice a month. Then he said I have the potential to get freaky calves and to blow them out once a week. I did part of my workout with blood running down my leg. I split my knee open right before squats. I finished the leg workout with blood coming out. He told me I am hard core.
Afterwards he asked me if I would be interested in doing a training video with him. I said Hellz Yeah! :wg:
Leg Workout
4 sets standing leg curls. 12 reps
Super set with 4 sets of modified leg press. 15 reps (From the bottom then up 50% then back down. Felt high in the hamstring near glute tie in.)
4 sets seated leg curls. 10 reps squeezing and 5 second hold on last 3 reps
Super set with 4 set single leg seated curls. 5 reps slow holding each rep
4 sets laying leg curls. 10 reps
Super set with 4 sets quarter leg curls. 6 rep. (Basically curling from the top down a quarter of the way and back up. Felt high in the hamstring near glute tie in.)
4 sets leg extensions. 12 reps. 5 second hold on last 3 reps
Stretching quads in between each set. (This is where I hit my knee and split it open. I did front squats with blood running down.)

My regular leg workout is very heavy low rep range. I've never done a leg workout like this before. He said the point was to hit specific areas. Ham/glute tie in, tear drops, outer sweep... and other areas. I was to dizzy to understand or pay attention when he was explaining it. :lol:
