Just for a spot of fun.....
This is my housemate and best friend, majorly out of shape in this pic but is progressing fast with the help of Am cardio and cleaner diet. Leg presses 650lbs and bench presses 260lbs, he's 26 and is 5ft7.
Guess the weight??
Guess the BF%??
PS. This is with his permission!! And please no flaming as he knows he's not a BB'er

Your buddy is Obese, I'd suggest educating him on how unhealthy he is and teach him how to eat properly.

Well he's 280lbs!!
He asked me to post this coz of the threads where people never believe when someone says "I'm xxxlbs". He has an incredibly large bone structure, and I'm pleased to say has started on an intensive diet regime with regular exercise!!
His target is 220lbs by Spring 2007 and 200lbs for Summer 2007.

He should pick more realistic goals.
Losing 60lbs in 3months is far from healthy.
He should average around 2-3lbs of fat per week, so 10lbs/month.
I'd say 60lbs is doable in 6months if he were to only lose Bodyfat and no muscle.
Tell him to take it slow, start by cleaning up his diet and gradually getting into the gym (weight training/cardio). There is a chance he might die if you push him too hard from the beginning.

I was around that size ( i can supply a fat pic too if it helps!) and it took about 12 months to cut to a lean 200ish. I was Very dedicated and never strayed from diet, never drank alcohol and never missed AM cardio or pm weights. So I would agree with above post. Set realistic goals or he will get disheartened striving for the impossible.

Are you saying that he is partially overweight because he is Big Boned? There is no such thing as being big boned I have seen this theory proven with xrays etc.
Tell your buddy congrats on the decision to start living a healthy lifestyle, he could not have given himself a better gift. Hope all goes well.

Yeah Im with I B D, set realistic goals, it took years and years of bad eating and no exercise to get that size,, you can't just reverse that in months.

Nope, he used to be quite "massive". Max leg press was near mine at the age of 17 (mine was 435Kg his was 390Kg) and we both competed in Discuss, I competed in Shot Putt also. We have been training together for years, he had 2 major car accidents, including a compression of the spine, and pituitry (sp?) gland problem when he was 21. He lost his LBM and gained about 80lb in 2 years beause of that!!
The doc told him that the 1st 30-40lb will drop on his new meds and then the rest will be at the recommended 2-3lb week hopefully!!
I'm now gonna do a course of DNP as well so hopefuly we can trim together for a change!!
Thanks for the comments guys

Not a particularly constructive comment!!
In fact there is such a thing as "big boned", it's called having a large frame!! You should look up things you nothing of before criticising. And if you wanna look it up, in case I'm wrong and you do have a clue about life... his elbow breadth is 8.6cm and he's 172cm tall. Do the math!

Dont get you're panties in a bunch it was just a joke. People do have large frames but that is besides the point, I dont really see how this is a positive thread, this is a bodybuilding site and a site to discuss AAS for members to improve their health and physiques. You're friend is obese and needs to lose weight before his heart gives out on him, he is on a diet which is good and I hope he gets fit. But if you want someone to guess his weight and bodyfat percentage you should take him to the carnival, at least then he will get a prize.
