Here are my diet progress pics...

I changed my diet up completely eating 6 meals, weighed out specifically for my body weight, with rotating carb days (high, med, low). I am also doing 1.5 hrs of cardio and the fat burning training from Muscle and Fitness (supersets, tri-sets, and giant sets).

The First Set of pics is me @ 230 in October of 2005.

Great progress, finally starting to look pretty ripped. This question is not flame intended but where you really overweight at one time because it looks like you have some extra skin in the lower ab region preventing your abs from showing. Like I said not knocking you bro you look great. But I think there is surgery available to correct that. Just an idea. Keep up the good work!

moush
04-24-2007, 07:41 PM
no i didnt...I just eat very clean I cheated 4-5 times the whole time...and religiously doing the cardio...I also take BCAA, Glutamine, Arginine, Citrulline Malate, Casein @ night, a PWO protein mix after training, Creatine, Tribulus, ZMA, Melatonin before training, ZMA @ night, and ALCAR

Very nice work bro, some major improvements there

moush
04-24-2007, 07:43 PM
hey GGallin I thought about it a million times and yes you are correct it is extra skin...here are the pics of those days...I used to weigh 285 lbs up until 10th grade I was a size 48 pant shopping Big and Tall

moush
04-24-2007, 07:44 PM
spywizard i actually broke a leg when i was younger which maybe the reason why one is bigger...

GGallin
04-24-2007, 07:49 PM
That sucks bro. But its good you lost the weight. I was pushing 275 this time last year but I dont think my skin got too stretched out but I do still have some ugly stretch marks from that. Thats a lesson for every one, dont let your self go too long because even if you get thin again you may not look 100% the way you want. You have tranformed your self greatly, your an inspiration dude good job.

Amazing transformation man - very impressive!

Just curious, What ddoes citrulline malata, selenium, L-Teanine and pycnogenol do?

Pycnogenol, taken with arginine, increases NO levels
Citrulline Malate taken with arginine increases NO levels as well
L theanine also has that relaxation, recovery thing going before bed time supp
selenium is an antioxidant

moush
09-05-2007, 10:14 AM
i definitely will...i am starting my mild bulk on the 8th (this saturday). I am currently on 80g carbs/day (65 of which is PWO). I will inc the carb intake to 190g/day and see what happens. I will just take it from there on my way up to about 360g carbs. I will still be doing 45-60 min of cardio 6 days a week, drinking about 2 gallons of water a day, and takin BCAA, glutamine, creatine, arginine, citrulline malate, taurine, waxy maize, CLA, ZMA, multi, calcium, glucosamine and chondroitine with MSM, Super EPA, vitamin E, vitamin C, and Super B complex

09-06-2007, 08:51 PM
heres what my clean bulk diet set up looks like:

Meal 1 PWO 80 g carbs, 55 g pro
Meal 2 70 g carbs, 55 g pro
Meal 3 50 g carbs, 55 g pro
Meal 4 50 g carbs, 55 g pro
Meal 5 55 g pro
Meal 6 55 g pro

I will post up what my diet looks like in a day or two...I know these carbs are low but I have been on 80 g carbs for a while now (cutting) so I dont want to get too much carbs and put on too much fat. I will still be doing cardio 5-6 days a week 30-45 min

moush
10-10-2007, 11:41 AM
thanks bro...the bulk diet i posted didnt work at all i started to gain bf within a month only cus im very carb sensitive so now im working with slingshot training guru doing his program. I started the program at 200 lb on monday and im already down to 192 lbs so im almost where i left off before summer ending and now im trying his bulk program so we will see..

hey AF i would love to get surgery cus this skin will never go away but its a lot of money and plus recovery really worries me cus it may take anywhere from 1 month to 6 months and im not willing to take a lay off like that from the gym...the end result would be worth it but possible loss of all my gains ive made scares me

1. Were you strength training BEFORE you started all of your dieting?

2. Would you happen to have scanned that article from M&F? I wouldn't mind reading it...but no big deal if you don't have it handy.

Keep up the good work.

Great job moush!! Your transformation should be an inspiration to guys here on the board, even the guys who have incredible physiques already. It takes extreme dedication and perseverance to accomplish what you did and you should be very proud of what you have done with your body. Excellent

Also, if you are interested in the surgical procedure, drop me a PM. Personally, I think you look fantastic already, but if you want to get your body to that next level, a surgical option may be the best bet to remove and tighten the loose skin. At your age and fitness level, recovery would be fairly short and you wouldn't have much to worry about when it comes to losing gains, etc. The human body has an amazing mechanism that lets it rebound after injury and I think you would be shocked at how little you would lose and how quickly you would be back in the gym.

Anyway, you look great!

Doc M

Well Ive given it a lot of thought and Im going to a couple places for consultations to get the tummy tuck to remove the excess skin. I really want to get it done around Febuary or so and be able to recover and get back to the gym to look lean as hell for the summer and possibly compete, atleast once. I just want to get on stage just to add to my accomplishments after this journey. Im tired of having this skin that just makes me feel fat and overweight.

here are some new pics of me during my bulk phase...in these pics I am 210 lbs!!

Weird how i dont look as fat at 210 as I did at 202 (pics with green shorts) when I first started dieting like this last October.

to be honest...i hate the way I look and feel. I felt so much better lean and mean...but this is the only way to increase LBM. Oh yea also take into consideration these pics are of me WITHOUT ANY CARDIO AT ALL! The pics of me at 202 in the green shorts - yea I was doing an hour of cardio and I still looked like that!

I think we all hate putting on bodyfat during a bulk but there's no other way to move up the muscular ladder unless you can afford injecting 10 ius of GH every day. You'll look better than ever after you have the surgery, put the muscle mass back on and then cut up this summer!

thanks bros for all the great comments!

Ronnie, I cant thank you enough for all the help and information you have given me. You have inspired me to reach a new level of weight training and I hope after all the surgery and hard work after that I can compete, even if it is just one time just to show others what I have done and show them that anything is possible.

i just had the surgery yesterday...i missed a whole day of eating i only got 1 meal in but im doin much better today and eating all my meals.

its so hard when something so simple as a cough is the most difficult thing to do cus you use your abs/core for everything!

i went to the doctor today and he said everything is looking great! he also said that he will remove the hospitals bandaging and give me a girdle like thing to wear. He said i can shower tomorrow which is a plus but sleeping is a b*@#h cus i have to sleep in a chair (not laying down).

I just finished reading your log and Wow! What a trasformation great job! Glad you elected to do the surgery and am really looking forward to those after pics real soon. I hope you are recovering nicely.

I also have extra skin from being 40lbs over weight and it really sucks! It's been 6yrs since overweight. I'm lean everywhere else, even vascular, but that damn midsection! If you don't mind me asking, how much did surgery set you back?

Cheers!

moush
02-15-2008, 06:56 AM
hey ecto the doctors fee was $6000 plus the OR and anesthesiologist set me back another $3300...so $9300 total but i believe its worth it especially if you are in it for the long haul.

im getting better each day and im able to stand straighter. Pain is getting less and less and all i have to wait for is the removal of the drainage tubes (Wednesday) and by then i should be able to go about my normal day.

As far as exercise...well i need a month or so until i can start cardio and about 2 months until i can lift again.

a little update...im back in action as far as ADL goes...i can walk straight, no pain, im able to drive and sleep in my own bed too (i was sleeping in a chair!!)

i gotta go back to the doc in 2 weeks and ill find out if i can start cardio to shed some bodyfat and then about 3-4 weeks after start lifting again and fill out and then cut down to 6% bf but this time ill hav e a 6 pack with no more skin!!!

hells yea muriloninja...i did it with the right foods, knowledge from this forum, and magazines i read thru the years. This coming March the 18th to be exact will be 11 years that I have been working out and cleaning my diet up each and every year. Right now im recovering trying to keep bf away and keep my muscle but i plan on coming back strong (with muscle memory) and use the STS program by Ronnie with great results again. I may plan on doing a cycle for the first time...i dont know it all depends. Im just hoping to get my mass back before the surgery and cut down to 6% bf like this past April.

thanks bro!

I wanted to share my story with you guys about how the weight loss and current obsession with lifting/bodybuilding came about. Here goes:

At 15 years old I weighed 285 lbs and I decided I needed to lose weight because everybody in school made fun of me, and I felt like I was the only one without a girlfriend. So my sophmore into my junior year in high school I decided I needed to lose weight because I was fed up with the lack of a social life.

I explored a couple different diet ranging from some fruit diet to the cabbage soup diet. None worked, until one day my father came home with a book - The Atkins Diet. I tried it, I liked it because I got to eat meat, cheese, and veggies all day. I stuck to the diet and somewhere in there I was introduced to weight training by one of my friends, so I started to lift and lose weight but the problem was I couldnt get stronger due to the lack of carbs (i know this now, but i didnt then). So after 7 months of dieting and playing basketball, mountain biking, and lifting I lost 100 lbs!

I came back the following year (junior yr) and found a girlfriend! Go figure. I stuck through the lifting all through high school and went off to Rutgers University after my senior year. Due to the experience of weight loss and exercise I had an interest in nutrition and exercise so I majored in Nutritional Sciences at Rutgers University. While at school I bulked up from 200 to 235 lbs but i quickly realized that it didnt look good so I decided to do lots of cardio and eating a little cleaner. I cut down to about 215 lbs but i plateaued.

Finally after 5 years, I got my Bachelors degree and in the mean time was in the process of still cutting down. After a summer of working as a physical therapy aide, I decided to attend a community school where I could get my Certificate in Exercise Science. What I learned in the classroom was directly applied to my daily eating and exercise regiment which led me to make a complete lifestyle change in October of 2006. I decided to plan out a schedule for eating, so I started wei***ng out my foods and dividing them into 6 portions involving rotating carbohydrate days (high, med, and low carb days) with carbs decreasing as the day went on. The main focus of this diet was fatloss since Ive been troubled with being overweight my whole life. I loved it even more than the Atkins diet because i got to eat every 2.5 hrs on the dot and who doesnt love to eat! I felt great on this diet, and it provided me with all the necessary nutrients to decrease bodyfat and maintain muscle mass.

As the diet went on there was more focus on low carb days with a high carb day every 5-6 days. The purpose of the high carb day was to bring back glycogen stores and rev up the metabolism. My training began at 5 am with 1 hour of cardio on the elliptical followed by my lifting session, (one body part a day) and then another 30 min bout of cardio on the treadmill on an incline. I also did cardio for an hour on the weekends as well. All cardio was done on an empty stomach. As i got more and more into the program I began picking up magazines and reading up on the forums about nutrition, and different lifting techniques.
I began modifying my diet to include better PWO nutrition since that is the most important meal of the day to help recovery and replenish glycogen stores. I changed my training to a higher intensity program, which increased my heart rate to increase fat loss. Everything at this point was going great because everything i learned in the classroom was directly applied to what I was doing for my diet and training. I quickly changed my cardio routine to be done after weights to help preserve that energy and put it towards my training to help keep my strength up. Doing cardio PWO also lead to greater fatloss due to higher GH levels after weights. At this point I was eating about 55-60 g protein/meal with about 70-80 g carbs the whole day. I felt great and by August of 2007, I was at an unbelieveable 6% bodyfat at 190 lbs! I reached my goal and then some! I looked the best I ever have in my life and it felt so great. I never thought I could get so lean but all that hard work was worth it.

Since then I discovered Ronnie Rowland, the man who has given me new inspiration in weight training. I started using his Slingshot Training System and gained 25-30 lbs (225-230 - not too fat) with huge gains in strength that I had never seen before. On Feb 13th, I under went surgery to remove excess skin from my abdomen due to the excessive weight loss at 15 yrs old. Even at 6% I had skin hanging off and I was sick and tired of trying to get rid of it, so I had the surgery and recovered a lot quicker than I ever expected but I can attribute that to being young, healthy and having good nutrition. I still ate 5-6 meals a day and within a month I was back in the gym lifting weights!

I have just finished week 2 of Ronnies 4 day STS split with a lean bulk. I am gaining my strength back and I have put on some great size with a decent bodyfat %. My goal is to cut down for the summer and be about 200-210 lbs at 6% bf. I plan on competing sometime in the fall or spring of next year after I put on a little more size.

i had a PWO protein shake after all exercise and about 30 min later i would take down carbs like oatmeal and protein such as eggs, and ground turkey. Pre-exercise i took BCAAs, glutamine, taurine, arginine, acetyl-l-carnitine and creatine all mixed up in crystal lite lemonade

a lot of people say that thats not me which is pretty interesting.

I agree, but if theres one thing i`ve learned, its that most people are the same regardless of weight. I have met many fat women who don`t understand why they cant get with better looking guys, not taking a second to realise they are aiming for the fit more attractive guys, not the fat ones. It`s pretty ironic. Seriously, when they get deined, they get extremely offensive. Everyone wants to date the fit crowd, but dosen`t actually want to work at it themselves. Maybe not the best example or wording, but I hope you get my point.

Either way, i`m glad you proved to yourself you could do this.
