Wrist straps break while doing a deadlift

I was finishing my set with 450 shooting for 7 reps. On the 5th rep the damn straps break, and these were brand new straps. The left strap breaks and about a second later my back makes this huge ass popping sound and havent been able to stand strait up yet. Anybody have this shit happen. Or anything like it. Again brand new straps!!!

Sound like a good reason to quit using straps and to get some chalk to me.

I use chalk but I got small hands and its hard to get a good grip.

The exact same thing happened to me several years ago (about 1993). I had just bought a new pair of lifting straps from CrazeeWear. I bought them because they were the same colors and material as a pair of the pants that I had. About a week after I bought them, one of them broke. Fortunately, I was not injured during the lift.

A couple of months later, I bought a nice pair from B.U.I.L.T that has padding sewed in. I've been using them ever since. :afro:
