I have 6 weeks out to my first of two shows, the second one is the next weekend....it will be two years next month since I was told I was in remission from t-cell lymphoma...it feels good! I have included one pic from two years ago after chemo to give a point of reference. My legs are still lagging behind, although I have increased size since I started training seriously in February....oh well, there's always next year...lol...BTW, I will be in the Masters division, I will be 49 in August....

These are some pics with my partner, he will be doing the San Jose July 14 with me and then doing the USA's two weeks later....he qualified two years ago. It's very humbling standing next to him, he will also be 49 in August, we're two days apart in age, I'm the older one....lol.

damn man, sick progress...im amazed at how you're managing to look bigger and bigger as you lean out. inspiring shit man!! that side chest pose definately brings out your thickness..arms and shoulders are really starting to pop out..and you still hold your own posin down with your monster of a training parter! lol.. and your not the only one who feels humbled!! im 24 and would kill to be that jacked.
keep it up man, cant wait to see pics of you on stage.

Thanks Tank, the one area I think I have over my partner is the vein running down my forhead....lol...Still have a long ways to go to get my legs back where I would like them to be....all in time.

Hey thanks Webb, I appreciate it....It's probably easier for me to get dry than most since I had to have the large intestine removed....I'm pretty much borderline dehydrated all the time. So I guess I at least have one advantage from all the medical challenges. Webb, thanks again bro, I know you have a lot of experience in comps so that hits me big time!

Thanks again Tango, I'm excited to hit a growth cycle next year and see what I can do now that I'm feeling really good and able to train intensely again! I love having the opportunity to get into the gym again, it's tough to explain how great it feels after thinking I was done two years ago.

You are in superb condition for being only 6 weeks out, when did you start dieting and what has your diet been like?
I maintain a real tight diet year around because of the medical condition...(cancer recovery and Inflammatory bowel disease). My typical day is organic oatmeal first thing in the morning with a protein drink mixed in water.
Mid- morning: protein drink
Lunch: either Organic chicken breast, Turkey breast or halibut, green salad, I put organic apple cider vinegar and olive oil on the salad.

pre-workout/midafternoon: Protein drink.

PWO: banana for the glycemic spike and then protein drink.

an hour later baked potato ( I coat the potato with olive oil and sprinkle Mrs Dash over the jacket) and one of the following meats...
Bison steak/ chicken breast or halibut.
Asparugus
Green salad.

Before Bed: combine Whey/caseinate and eggwhite protein drink.

I usually eat yeast-free sour dough bread when I'm not dieting but I cut that out 4 weeks ago.

I started cardio yesterday which I think will drop the remaining fat over the next 4 1/2 weeks until I start to ***lete and load.

Thanks for the interest S.H. Livestrong!!

Thanks TimTim, my partner is rock solid and I believe will take the overalls at the San Jose's, I think he will do well at the USA's also although that is a really tough show. As for myself, I just feel blessed that I can train and I'm entering a show after what I went through two years ago....and I'm very fortunate to train with Dale, we're a couple of old schoolers that love to train!
