Ive just had a week off from training, i think i was long overdue.... now i have come back to training im getting alot sorer i know that its because my muscles have had some time off ect.... the thing i want to ask is if you say work chest on monday but your shoulders which you work on wednesday are still aching from monday would you give yourself an extra day before you work them?

i would give it as much time as you need, mentally it may frustrate you, but theres no point in training a damaged muscle

whenever you come back from a break, it will take a week or so b4 u can fall back into your normal schedule

just change ur routine so ur not working out secondary muscles that are already sore, or do light weight semi high reps and not a lot of sets as that will increase blood flow to the sore muscles which will speed up the recovery process

listen to your body, an extra day of rest is a good thing

Yea I do always rest just wanted some other thoughts on the matter, I once read a E-book type thing on one guy who said as you progress you need longer and longer off each time you workout i think his theory was more you workout the stronger you get the more heavy weights you use the more stress on the muscle = more recovery time. But the stupid thing was he was sugesting working out once and then not working out for a whole week.
Any way thank for your advice guys ( Im nice and healed up now so can hit the gym again today)
