acne question

going to see a Derm. tomorrow....

I've read a lot of good things in regards to accutane...I have some pretty bad fce acne since y last cycle, its been 5months and it just continues to get worse and worse....

should I try and push for some accutane or stay shy from it...

all I've really heard is dryness and possible ***ression as sides but not to sure if its the route to go...

if tried all from the saylic acid to 10% benzol peroxide ... and no cigar....


any suggestions??

oh by the way I have no issues with acne anywhere else....

Try Pantothenic Acid (vitamin B5) it works well with no sides.....google Pantothenic Acid and acne....there is a lot of info regarding it....

differn sucks. i went through hell and now have not one pimple. my back, chest, shoulders, and neck were covered in pimples, i was to embarrassed to show anyone besides my girlfriend of five years. i am on month 4 of my accutane cycle, only sides are dry skin and chapped lips. ran a cycle while on even and not one pimple and bloodwork came back 100 percent. i would not waste your time, hit the accutane if you have tried other stuff and it does not work. cant say enough good things about it.

accutane is the shit. works well. ur right tho dry skin from it can be a b^tch. i had to put chap stick on like 10 times a day when i was on it. i think the whole ***ression thing is bullsh^t but i did get pissed off a lot when i was on it lol.

how much is the actual accutane? not the ugl the legit stuff at the pharmacy ?

i used sunbeds........sounds silly advid but it helps dry them up and helps to cover scaring

Nope, Sunbeds will make cystic acne much worse. First thing the derm will says is to avoid harmful UV rays. It may help for surface acne but not bad cystic acne.

I would avoid accutane doesn't sound like you need it. I would wait longer before putting that powerfull sh^t in your body. it will work no doubt about that, but it has potential to mess your body up

It is an expensive medication with monthly blood test and the derm will want to see you often.

Amen brutha!!! Accutane is the ONLY thing that works for EVERYBODY. Some stuff only works for some people. Sure, maybe if you tried all of the hundreds of acne meds out there, one would work pretty well for you, but I know you don't have time for that. I just got off a cycle while only taking 10mg of accutane (40mgs/day is usually reccommended, sometimes up to 80mgs) everyday and didn't have a single pimple. The depression thing is definitley bullshit. Don't waste your time with other meds. Just tell the derm that youve tried everything else and nothing works. Good luck!

I did 2 cycles of Accutane. It is definitely the best remedy. The only side affect I suffered is that my skin does not heal as well anymore. Cuts take longer to heal and scars stay for much longer. It was WELL worth it!
