What does HCI mean??

I think the headline say's it all....but when you look at the back of a label and it say L-carntine "HCI" what does that mean????

I think the few that I have come by say hc"I" not hcl

HCl is hydrochloric acid, the I is a lower-case L. H=hydrogen Cl=chlorine.
