with the exception of the past year or year and a half, i have consumed a ton of caffeine consistently my entire life. i eventually cut back because it got to the point where it does absolutely nothing. i can consume 500 mg at a time and not get a boost whatsoever. the past year or so, consuming any significant amount of caffeine (200+ mg) has been causing some chest pains. like just today for example i drank a couple big cups of some pretty stout coffee preworkout and got the pain for about the entire duration of my 1 hr workout. its not excruciating, just a dull ache right behind my sternum. feels somewhat similar to acid reflux or heartburn. its only caffeine that does it. ephedrine and clen dont have that effect at all. thoughts anyone?

caffeine works differently than clen and ephedrine, it binds to adenosine receptors creating the perception of more energy
how do you know only caffeine does this?
i ask because caffeine is basic in nature, while coffee is generally acidic

coffee, caffeine tablets, supplements with caffeine in them, energy drinks etc all do it

try drinking some decaf drinks and coffee that give you the chest pains and see if you still get them, could be a type of acid reflux(most of the things you are naming have acid, for example energy drinks are carbonated, hence carbonic acid)

after searching around a bit, im leaning towards caffeine induced acid reflux. could definitely be wrong though. would like to hear some more feedback if anyone has any other ideas though.
That's interesting you bring this up. I have been cutting down, so no sugar, junk food, energy drinks, etc.
However today I did have some caffeine and sugar. As i have had coffee(black no sugar) regularly during my diet, I have experienced no issues.
However when I had sugar today with caffeine, I noticed some heart murmurs.
In fact, for a while people thought caffeine caused cancer because a lot of coffee drinkers starting showing signs of cancer, etc. It turned out to be all the crap people put in their coffee. Sugars, artificial sweeteners, etc.
Try straight black coffee with nothing added. See how your respond to this.
Try it in the morning. And have absolutely NO sugar. See if we can narrow this down. I read that high sugar levels may cause heart murmurs, so this is the reason I say try it.
I hope you feel better though, bro!
Take care! :)
it has to be acid reflux. it happens all the time. its why people with ulcers are told to avoid caffeine

maybe i'll give the decaf or straight black coffee a shot. i usually put a ton of splenda in it too so i'll go straight black today and see what happens. that would be nice if it were just the splenda or something, but im still leaning towards the acid reflux like what PT said being as caffeine tablets, tea, and other stuff does it to me just the same. thanks for the feedback. didnt mean to put this in the wrong forum
