Fish, the king of them all?

In New Zealand here so maybe that changes things but I'm not sure why everyone wastes so much money and time on chicken breasts and eggs etc? I see people's diets, 7 egg whites? **** that mess...

FISH as far as i'm concerned is the best of them all. So cheap, so much protein, so convenient.

A can of tinned JACK MACKEREL is about $1.50 in your US dollars and contains nearly 90g protein and some good quality fats. This is hands down unbeatable for getting protein intake. What's more, the convenience- no messing around cooking and preparing... crack open the tin and down it. Just one can of this shit is nearly half my entire daily intake.

Tuna is also very good and cheap.

Fish can taste damn good too...

Please don't give me bull about mercury levels because they are in reality of no harm to us. Especially fish over this way...

What do you guys think of fish then? Is it not the same over there in the US?

Fish is great. I eat mostly tilapia and salmon. When I need slower protein, I do red meat. I rarely bother with chicken breast anymore.

Flank steak right before bed... much better than cottage cheese.

I agree, fish (salmon) is the staple of my bulk. Not a fan of many white fish.

Whole eggs/whites/omega-3 eggs have their place in a diet, but I believe one shouldn't use this as their primary source of protein.

for me, my favorite is cod, salmon and shanks of cheap red meat.

if your buying the tender marbled stuff, you havent figured it out yet.

and i agree, a slab of red meat at midnight is how i prefer to end my day. other than the 2-3am casein shake.

I personally like to get my daily protein from a variety of sources for the full spectrum of amino's. I agree though, fish is great and loaded with quality protein.

When you think about it, fresh fish is about as close to eating pure clean as you can get. Catch, cook, eat. No processing, no storage time. Granted we can't always do that, and canned fish is fine for convenience sake. Salmon and tuna are my favs. I'd like to start exposing myself to others though such as trout, mackerel, etc. Did tilapia for a while but not much flavor there, and without the EFA's it's kind of pointless IMO.

I agree with everything you have written here except for 'cook'... eat it RAW! Unbelievably good taste with a dash of sawyer sauce!

you can get really good deal on tilapia in bulk too. i get lots of that when im home in the usa. and most of my friends dont even know what tilapia is.

its like a mix between bluegill and roughie to me. probably closer to bluegill. but bigger in average size. i really like tilapia, just wish it had the thickness of cod.
