View Full Version : MY Team (as the other thread with just my starters became the trash talk thread)

Well, here you have it (i also think everyone should post an official "my team" thread for evaluation by league and board members). I told myself going in that I was going to build on running backs early and hold off on WR's. I ended up being torn between Portis and Harrison at pick #6 (my first pick) and went with Harrison...negating my plan from the get go. I never really recovered after that and missed most of my contingency RBs by a pick or two from that point on. My big "X" factor and buyers remorse thing right now is wondering whether I jumped the gun on Gonzalez at TE and could have possibly taken a RB at that position and settled for a less stellar TE. Anyway, here's the roster and the order I picked them in:

1. Marvin Harrison WR
2. Daunte Culpepper QB
3. Eddie George RB
4. Tony Gonzalez TE
5. Eagles Team Defense
6. Anthony Thomas RB
7. Tom Brady QB
8. Ashley Lelie WR
9. Jake Plummer QB
10. Chris Chambers WR
11. James Thrash WR
12. Michael Bennett RB (and comeback player of the year)
13. Kelly Holcomb QB
14. Olindo Mare K
15. Fred McAfee RB
16. Daniel Graham TE
17. Chiefs Team Defense
18. Drew Bennett WR

Good depth at QB. Solid Defense (Philly, not KC). Strugglin' at RB. What's up with Anabolic League 2? Is it now defunct?

I took KC's defense because they play the Houston Texans during Week 3 or 4 (whichever week it is that Philly is off). It's very likely that after that fact I'll never use them again, and, depending on how familiar I am with waivers and whether or not any undrafted players are emerging as contributors, I'll probably end up cutting them loose after that point.

I fully agree on RB. I strayed from my plan a bit when I took Marvin Harrison first instead of a RB, but I'm somewhat surprised by how much Harrison is overlooked when people glance at my team.

I'm not quite sure what you mean by your last question.

Your right, Harrison is a fantasy stud. I have a similar decision to make in my draft coming up this Sunday. I have the 10th and 11th picks with the likes of Ahman Green, Shaun Alexander and Marvin Harrison still available. I don't know if I should grab two RBs or one RB and Harrison? Tough call.

Anabolic League 2 was the other league on Yahoo for all the guys who couldn't get into the primary league. It seems to be abandoned. Just wonderin' if you had heard anything. Also, what's the deal with the team that didn't show (Team #1)? Do you still need someone to take it over? Peace.

I'm not sure what the deal with team #1 is, but i'll get back to you. The guy is definitely active, but it seems like all he did was cut a bunch of players and name his team the "bums"...i still haven't heard back from him through PMs

Not a bad team big green, although i woulda taken care of my running backs first, as they are the most important position. Also. curious as to why you drafted kc defense? Seems like a waste of a draft pick. I always pick up an extra defense but only for the bye week of my starting defense, and the backup defense is usually a team that is playing someone horrible offensively.

That is exactly why. The eagles are off the week that the Chiefs play the Houston Texans. As soon as that week passes (i think it's week four) the chiefs are GONE.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) - Tony Gonzalez, Kansas City's four-time Pro Bowl tight end, injured his left knee during practice Tuesday when he was hit while reaching for a pass.

Coach Dick Vermeil said early indications were the injury did not threaten Gonzalez's season or career.

"I think it will be short term, but that's a first look,'' Vermeil said.

Gonzalez was twisting for a pass thrown behind him when he was hit at the same time by linebacker Mike Maslowski during a full-team drill. He said in the locker room after practice the injury was not serious.

Wow, thank you so much! I'm grateful that I have someone, a fellow competitor no less...indeed an adversary, who is willing to go that extra mile to keep me informed of the status of my players. That is so corteous! This is what sportsmanship is all about, really.

(now, in my best Homer Simpson voice)...in case you can't tell, I'm being sarcastic!

Actually, I posted this here because EPSN's news and fantasy predictions suck.
