    Roadwork necessary while boxing?

Is it absoloutly necessary to do roadwork while training in boxing. I have been thinking about this, whith all the time spent sparring, bag work, pad work, rope work, speed bag, double end bag, shadowboxing, etc. would you really need to run x amount of miles every day? Isn't that overkill? Are there any pros that don't do any roadwork?

Its not essential, but its good to get cardio and to do different types of it because when your in the ring in a real competing event you will gas 4times faster than any training you do.
