Shamrock needs to hang em up.

He had a good career, but its time to end it after getting pummelled by Rich Franklin. Did anyone else think the slip at the end of his fight was a little fishy looking? HMMM!!!??!?!? Great fight before that with Bonner and Griffin. One of the best i have ever seen.

Still looks phenomenal for his age

yeah the ending was retarded. he slipped like i "accidentally" slip under some ho's skirt, then proceeds to not even cover up. i dunno maybe he is just old, but man did that suck.

Sh*t, that was brutal, one of the biggest let downs in a while, I guess you can only be in your prime for so long.

Give franklin some credit. He is amazing. He tapped out Eastman so fast that Eastman didn't even believe it happend. He destroyed Evan Tanner. I think we are looking at the next 185lb champ. He could also do some damage at light heavyweight in a couple of years.

He's definitely the next middleweight champ, but I don't think he'll come back up 2 light heavyweight. then again, with Dana running things, anything is possible.

Yep, a longshot on light heavy but,

    1) if Randy were to retire

2)people (general public) are getting more and more tired of seeing Tito perform take downs and sit on top of people throwing elbows for 15 minutes.

    3) Vitor looks like he lost the eye of the tiger.

    4) CHuck wins the title, and Dana and the owners throw some major cash Franklin's way.

Anythings possible. Then again, I thought Yves Edwards was such an exciting fighter and they screwed him over, and removed his weight class.

One things for sure, they caught the public's attention with the TV show and they have some key decisions to make or the public will lose interest fast.

P.S. - I just watched Rich's Extreme Challenge 41 fight when he was 11-0. He fought @ 218 lbs and looked strong as a bull.

I can't beleive he said he wanted to go back to 185lbs. I don't understand with all the crap he was talking why he doesn't want to stick in the Light Heavy and really fight with the real big dogs....JMO

Thank you for spotting that out.

I think there is a very good chance that the fight was fixed.

#1 The wasy Ken was talking about Rich, and how he is going to go far ect ect! Ken never says that kind of crap, for anyone.
#2 Rich Just got an 8 fight contract with the UFC.
#3 That fight was just BS. Ken just slipped and didnt even do anything just went for the cover up.

Its all Politics, if it wast for fighters like Ken Shamrock, and Joyce Gracie the UFC would not be anything like it is today. Ken was fighting in Japan way before UFC. Ken Shamrock is the man.

If the UFC gets caught making a work out of a fight its all over for them. Might as well hand the thing to vince mcmahon.

TUF and having UFC on spike along with the Shamrock/Franklin fight is all a plan to make
    the UFC more popular.
The Shamrock/Franklin fight was made to put Rich Franklin on the map.
He has the tools to have a belt around his waist. I like his fighting style.

The owners --Fertita's have a lot of pull.
They have a big corporation and are involved in other businesses, they have casinos, hotels, restaurants.
    Very influential in Tx
I think they are trying to make this bigger than boxing without the boxing comission interfering in their business. It is possible.
I hope they do it, I just hope the sport itself does not suffer.

Vitor, he used to be the man.
Then his lil sister got abducted (that happens a lot in South America to rich people)
    and they never found her.
He was a changed man after that. he went a little cooocooo!
Its sad to see him like that!

    Are you kidding.

    (not flaming)

I dont know what your experience is in the fighting world but fights get fixed all the time!

    It happens in pride,
    it happens everywhere.
$=corruption and that is the bottom line!

I am not talking about stuff that goes on without the organizations knowledge and blessing. I am saying if the UFC as an organization started scripting figths they would have a big problem. Shooto started out with scripted fights and then changed to non-scripted. Pancrase was a great organization where Funaki and others gathered pro-wrestlers to put on real fights.

I have a feeling if there was a fixed fight in the UFC someone would leak it. I am really hoping there are no corporate sponsored fixes.

The guys that own the UFC are huge fans, it would be hard to believe since their already wealthy they would steer the sport in that way when they have waited so long already for it to become more mainstream. Do you really believe Ken took a dive last night? Franklin is very fast and on top of his game. The slips looked horrible but I pray it wasn't planned.

Me too bro, I really really hope the fight wasnt fixed. And that something like that will never ever come to the UFC!
I really hope that the owners want to do things right and take care of the fighters. I really do.

I just think that power and money easily corrupts even the strongest men!
SO there is a posibility, that and that fight just did not seem right!
I almost hope that Ken threw that fight just cuz of how he performed!

Agreed, I have seen some weird stuff in fights though. Like our friends Kerr and Lindland knocking themselves out. Fedor's cut against TK which he gets to rematch this week.

He is very well spoken and well mannered now. I would think he could pull off a Bas Rutten. Meaning he could start his own fight organization with some investors like BAS did for a while. Make great money training and announcing.

Who does the english anouncing for the K1 MMA stuff. Seems like he could find some fun things to do and still be a big contributor.

I would pay to watch him fight Tito again, but hopefully not at 205. More like 230.
