what is vale tudo?

i just googled this up and got something in 3 seconds bro

Vale Tudo is portueguese(sp?) for anything goes. Basically no rules fighting. Big in Brazil! Hardcore vale tudo involves headbuts,groin shots and other stuff, but its been modified somewhat over the years. Its hard to find a real pure vale tudo event I imagine.

gmill pretty much nailed it, modern MMA as seen in Ultimate Fighting is pretty much just watered down Vale Tudo. they added a bunch of sissy rules to keep it legal, like no kicking people when they're down...PULL UP YOUR SKIRT MAN, IT'S SUPPOSED TO BE A FIGHT!
