Roy Jones vs Tarver 4.......its official

Roy Jones has announced that he will not retire until he fights Tarver for a fourth bout. Techically they are 2 and 2 if you count there fight as ametures. He wants to be back in the ring by January against a serious opponent....maybe another fight,..and then to Tarver.

Roy felt he should have had a fight ( Tune Up ) before fighting Tarver the third time but says HBO and promotoers would not allow it. He says he didnt mind fightiing him he 3rd time,.but after a year off,.a tune up first would have been the smartest thing......

Roy is going to kill him this time!

roy should let it go. nothing to prove. his wheels fell off. it happens like that. retire with grace and dignity.

Roy should let it go just like tyson did, a least tyson admitted it on live t.v. that it was not in him anymore. mad respect for that. but for roy how many a** kickin's does he need to realize he is done. Note that tyson and roy are my fav's.

But everybody needs to let it go sometime..

I think he is a little scared to get hit again. Its something he will have to overcome if he wants the belt again. BETTER sooner than later ,.he isnt getting any younger.

Roy can definatly beat Tarver,..but Roy is at war with himself,..not the other guy in the ring..its all mental..

Either way,..he is still the greatest.

yeah the last fight they had a was a joke though. The sad thing was when Jones actually attempted to fight he got the better of tarver. Too bad it was only for two rounds. He looked scared to get knocked out again. Hope he does better next time. Him and Tyson should fight I would pay to see that.

It seems the lacey and calzache fight is on for march and tarver has said he will fight the winner if they are willing to move up a wieght.

In all honesty i think calzache will beat them both wich will make him the first undefeated 2 wieght champion.

Will be a great year for boxing.

Roy wasnt trying in jones tarver 3, I saw many times he had tarver and just backed off. Watch the fight and tell me if you think I am wrong. It was really crappy acting to if he was supposed to lose the fight!

umm, Roy is scheduled to fight Hopkins already..

Jones is a shot fighter, His skills are still there but his head and heart are gone. Once that happens you are DONE. That's how I knew I was done too. I just didn't want it anymore.

There is no training in the world to bring back a fighter who doesn't want to win. Retire Roy....

This thread should come to some sort of reality..

Jones v Tarver: The chance of the fight was a big shot in the dark

Jones v Hopkins: If this fight happens it will be in both of there DREAMS !

Jones v Anyone Jones jr is open to up and coming pro fighters looking for a shot at a title...he will draw fans and make big money...but the fact is this boxer is over the hill and should realy retire before his fans sway away from him and he will just be some little memory instead of a legend.

Jones v Retirement: Retirement should win !

I hate to say it guys but the start from the past are gone...so concentrate on the future champions.
