    Shannon "the Cannon" Rich

    Have any of you guys ever heard of him? If so, what is your opinion?

    he was in UFC55 and lost to Brandon Lee Hinkle. he was also in a street fight with kimbo slice a few years ago. he's supposed to be a good boxer and can take a punishment (if u saw the kimbo fight), but in the world of mma, he's a lost cause. i think he has another fight deal in the UFC, but against a good grappler or wrestler, he doesn't stand a chance. but i'd luv to see him stand up and bang like he did with kimbo.

    I think that was Sean Gannon, I am talking about Shannon Rich. He fought in Pride and in Japan.

    Is record is awful, i guess he just competes for the fun of it, he was in Pride 9 i think against Sakuraba and lost to a leg lock.

    Shannon Rich fights all the time, hell sometimes 3-4x a month at times, yes he lost to Sakuraba at Pride 11 and then went back to small promotions. Last i heard he was going to Iraq..thats been awhile though.

    Is he a good fighter? Not in MMA, is how i would put it.

    Thanks for responding. I met him through a friend and I just wanted to get some impartial opinions. I saw he had a losing record but that was about it. Let's just say he didn't have a "winning" record in Iraq either. He is back stateside now.

    Heard that he fought the thai boxers in a tournament in thailand..Don't know how he done!! I think there were 3 american guys and it was all bare knuckle with elbow shots too..It was in an english magazine called 'combat.'

    My cousin actually fought shannon ritch a few years ago in a kickboxing match. Him and shannon HATED each other and talked a tremendous amount of shit back and forth for quite a long time and finally my either him or my cousin challenged each other in the ring to an unsanctioned kickboxing match in phoenix where they were both living to my knowledge. My cousin KO'd him through the ropes in the second round. I never saw any videos of it or anything I just take my cousins word for it since he is no bullshit artist and he was very highly regarded in the Muay Thai kickboxing world.

    If by some chance you were thinking about going out with him than i can't help because i do not know him personally just through MMA world. Has always seemed like a guy that is doing what he loves..gotta respect that no matter how many ass kickings he has taken.
