Welcome to the boards. Did you play in the NHL, AHL, ECHL?

any advice on conditioning would be great. Like how you combine aerobic/anaerobic and weightlifting together, not to mention stretching and ice time. Not always easy to fit everything in. Specific exercises you use for improving skating speed would be helpful.

    Thanks.

axe, not much i can tell ya about lifting and all. when i played the workouts were pretty routine. the most important thing about being a hockey player is skating. everyone i work with, whether a pro or a 10 yr old kid, i tell them to spend as much time as possible on the ice. as far as off ice conditioning i think alot of people get way too carried away, good old fashioned stationary bike is still the best way to go. so friggin boring, but it is part of the life.
