    Olympic athletes

    I have heard verious things, and am still not sure. Do you get paid when your an olympic competitor. How else can you afford the trainning all the time and suppliments and food?

    depending on the sport, you do get some prize money and grant money, but you need personal sponsors

    Not sure about boxing, but I think most athletes either get money from personal sponsors, or money from sponsors of their club. Of course, in some countries you may get paid as well depending on how popular the sport is.

    Yeah boxing is a tough sport to make a living at.

    depends on country. If you get into the national team in sweden you get paid(not sure if its all year or just for periods)so you can put 100% into the sport.

    USA is the cheapest country in the world. We don't get paid CHIT!!!!!!!!!!!

    You work your ass off all year, try to get job where you can still have plenty of time to train, sacrafice everything so you can have a shot @ making it. You have to put all your eggs in one basket..and there's no guarantee of anything.
