Guys. Wondering if anybody here could share training info with a beginner field guy/throwing,mainly hammer and shot!
What should i be doing workout wise? I want to take full benefit of my size. 6'5. 250lbs..Age 27...
Do the big guys incorperate sprints into their routines?
All the info you can supply will be greatly appreciated!!! Thanks..

Train train and train you specific event, I was twice as strong as some guys who threw further than me, and my techniqe was´nt that bad (diskus) I se so many guys drilling streching and jumping and lifting and completly forget traing the actuall event.

How do you throw the shot. Do you use the glide or the rotation. Because I used the rotation and a few exercises I have done really help if you use rotation.

I use the rotation technique..Winding up seems to produce more power/thrust for me..Twisting exercises and actual shot training!!

What I would really work on increasing your vertical leap. That helps with the jump when switching the feet when throwing the shot. 2 inch increase can help you add maybe .5m to your PB. Helps Adam Nelson he has a vertical leap of 35inches.

I used to be a thrower for shotput and discus, and I threw just as far as all the big Pacific Islander guys who threw for my team, know why? cause I had excellent form. I agree with Big M, train by doing what your competing in.
