    start techniqe

    I see some sprinters putting their foots outward like there ice skating the first few steps, Any thoughts??

    then they aren't very good sprinters..or ur seeing things. that would be "skating" and going from side to side to generate power. everything should be going straight forward.

    actually tryed it and it feelt good, dont know if it improved my time though (probably not) If you look at Gatlin run, he is doing it alot the first 3-4 steps

    Putting your foot outwards makes it more possible to use your glut while starting. But your hip has to be straight at the end of the movement.

    allright, So strange that some do and some donīt, should be an optimal way to do the start. Do you guys recomend skating?

    NOT recommended. the fastest way is point A to point B/straight line. going from side to side you're losing ground. losing PRECIOUS time if you "skate" coming out of the blocks.

    Dude, Ben's start was something that shouldn't be duplicated. Not because it was bad, but because it was something Ben did naturally. Ben actually jumped out of the blocks a bit.

    ben jumped out of the blocks and started running, basically. it worked for him cuz he did it naturally yes, but he was strong enough to make it effective/consistent. i dont think theres a sprinter around right now strong enough to even try it.

    Actually saw morice do something like that.

    BTW: Been training 60m for 2 month now Ran 7,22 today (no Steroids yet

    Is that good? I honestly have no clue what a good 60m time is.

    No its not "good" But iīve only been training for two month now they won the swedish campionships (for juniors) on 6,90 (my goal). The world record is 6,37 (morice)
