It is dedication beyond dedication, while preparing for a contest you have to eat sleep and drink BB if you want to do well. It pretty much sucks for the 12 to 20 weeks you prepare.

Yes very few people can make it to show day.
Here are just a few issues to deal with.
#1- clean dieting for 12 to 16 weeks.
#2- No going out to dinner, no drinking etc.
#3- No missing workouts or cardio
#4- if you travel for work You have to take alot of food
    with you.
#5- You need to have the will power to say NO to everyone.
#6- You need a very supportive partner of some sort.
#7- To do well you need good symmetry, shape, conditioning
Pose well. Or you just get your ass kicked after all your work.

However I do feel anyone at any show that goes through what we do are all winners. Most of the people watching the show will never wear a pair of posing trunks. They will never commit themselves to do what we do.

Good luck if you ever enter a show.

I'm 1 1/2 weeks away from my first show of the season.
Been dieting for 13 weeks so far. Body fat is down to 4%.
I'm ready to do battle for 1st place.

    Later,

I've never competed before, but I'm dieting for a show that's 7 and half weeks away, and it sucks. When I started the diet about 4 weeks ago I weighed 230, now I weigh 223, I know its not a big decrease in weight but I just started a new job and my hours kind of conflict with the time my gym is open. So, I didn't do that much cardio last week at all. But now, there's no fucking around anymore, I have 7 and a half weeks to get down to 200-205 to make the heavyweight class. And just to be sure that I'm gonna make the weight, I think I'm gonna take some Xenadrine cause one of my friends whose a professional bb told me he took it like 8 weeks before his show, plus the dieting and cardio, he said it helped out alot. But I'm probably just doing this show for experience cause I'm only 20 and I'm in the men's heavyweight but who knows, I have a lot of size on me, especially on the lower body. So, if your thinking about going into a show, you better stick to your diet, cause once you cheat or fuck up, its very hard to get back on track.
