I've heard frm my friend who just competed that most of the guys backstage ate chocolates every one hour before going onstage. What effect will it have on the body and why?? Any inputs appreciated guys..!

sugar, usually helps bring the viens out and helps with pump a bit.

stick with M&M's eat about half a bag before contest bought an hour before
If you go backstage. You will see a lot of weird things going on. People tend to eat different things to try and get a good pump going before going out on stage.
I tend to eat baby food and drink as much honey as I can just before hitting the stage. Seemed to work for me. I'll eat rice cakes with peanut butter and honey on it while waiting backstage if I'm hungry.
I'm not sure about the whole chocolate thing since it's got lactose in it and can make you bloated. A lot of people try to stick to more natural sugar sources.
Ya, you only want the sugar abourt 1H before going on stage and you want to try it a week or two before and see how you react. Never do anything last minute you haven't done before.
